5 Comics We’d Like to See GW Make With Marvel

What comics would you like to see? Here are the top 5 comic series we would love to see Games Workshop do with Marvel in 2020!

GW dropped a huge announcement saying that they were partnering with Marvel to produce comics. While the wealth of good stories GW has to pick from are almost endless, could we see some of the more popular Black Library books become comic-ized first. Here’s what we’d like to see!

A Primarch Series of Comics

primarchs

With eighteen Primarchs out there having years of lore behind their names, it would be awesome to see each Primarch getting their own comic showing off their level of badassery. Plus, it could help lay the foundation for further storylines into the Horus Heresy era. A comic on Ferrus Manus, Vulkan, and Corvus Corax may segway right into a comic on the Loyalist-side of the Dropsite Massacre.

A Bloodquest-Like Series

bloodquest

A comic reboot of Bloodquest, or an entire similar quest type series for some faction of Astartes would be great to see again. Bloodquest was originally a comic series from 1999-2003 that appears in Warhammer Monthly.

Devastation of Baal

As part of a gory outlet GW could take, the Devastation of Baal would also be action-packed. Rather than just describing the amount of bloodshed in words, pictures of bugs getting popped and power armor rended is always something that would spark the interest of the reader. Plus, this is one of the latest things to happen to the Blood Angels. This could be the start of a current lore series for 8th edition!

The Last Chancers

Stepping into the world of the Imperial Guard, we could also be seeing The Last Chancers. We could follow Colonel Schaeffers’ ragtag band of fighters and see how they manage to squeeze through the jaws of death time and time again…

Gaunt’s Ghosts

And finally ending with a Dan Abnett series, Gaunt’s Ghosts is another solid option. With a series spanning 16 novels, they GW wouldn’t run out of material anytime soon for this storyline.

Speaking of Dan Abnett, if you didn’t already know, he’s also a writer for Marvel. He’s got a whole list of superhero comics under his belt just as he does with Black Library! He and Andy Lanning basically are responsible for those Guardian of Galaxy movies (and comics) going back to 2008!

With these possibilities in the open, what would you like to see GW drop first? Do you think they will focus more on the Horus Heresy, 40k, or Age of Sigmar? What’s been your favorite Black Library book?
