Games Workshop has just released the ghostly details of the Nighthaunt faction with some of its new units and the warscroll format from Age of Sigmar 2.0
During Warhammer Fest, a big focus of the day was the NIghthaunt faction in AOS with the release of a video teaser and new models in the showcase. Warhammer Community dug a bit deeper today and gave us some more details to share with you.
Let’s dive into the new units spotted exclusively for the Nighthaunt.
Chainrasp Hordes
These souls are eternal prisoners of Nagash and take sick delight in bludgeoning enemies with the various chains and manacles that bind them in service to the Grand Necromancer.
Glaivewraith Stalkers
Drifting slowly and unstoppably towards their quarry, pursuing them for months (or even years!) if they have to.
Grimghast Reapers
Nagash has punished these souls by turning them into frenzied, indiscriminate murderers, blind to their foe and attacking with wild, unfocused slashes.
Lord Executioner
In their former lives, Lord Executioners were hangmen and headsmen who knowingly dispatched the innocent, or simply enjoyed their work a little too much.
Guardian of Souls
The Guardian of Souls is a first for the Nighthaunt – a Wizard! The Guardian of Souls acts like a lure-light for the rest of the Nighthaunt, drawing them towards living prey…
This guy seems pretty interesting. If he is a wizard-like it says, what do you think his spells will be?
Knight of Shrouds
The Knight of shrouds is getting a ghastly mount! He will definitely have a larger threat bubble thanks to his new steed.
Spirit Torment & New Warscroll
Looks like the new warscroll design doesn’t it? Check out the rules for the Spirit Torment as well. This guy lets friendly Nighthaunt reroll hits of 1 and can heal friendly units. Adding a sprinkle of fluff into the game is nice as he gives bigger rewards when you kill Stormcast Eternals.
With only 1 warscroll released, the Nighthaunt already look very powerful and it doesn’t look like the format of the game has changed. There is no toughness or strength characteristic which is in line with the current Age of Sigmar gameplay, and not a port back over from 40k.
What do you think about the new models? What other special rules will the Nighthaunt have on their warscrolls? Let us know what you think in the comments on Facebook!
