Games Workshop Opening Production & Retail Sales

Open-for-BusinessHere’s the latest on how Games Workshop is planning to open their sales, production, and retail operations worldwide post-social isolation.

GW has been crystal clear with what’s been going on since this whole crisis began. But now, they’ve got one of their biggest announcements yet to go over. From shipping times to store openings and even a new exclusive model for independent retailers are about to kick off VERY soon.

Here’s what you might’ve found in your emails from Games Workshop this morning:

Games Workshop Opening Production & Retail Sales Soon:

ready-to-order-gw-primaris-wal-horOne thing we really have to applaud Games Workshop at is being crystal clear and consistent with their updates on where they stand amid this crisis. They’ve also kept everyone’s safety in mind while still making moves to get things up and running once again. If you haven’t already heard, they’re essentially opening up their warehouses are opening up and will begin shipping their queue of orders.

The key takeaways here are that, while GW won’t be fully operational like before, they’ve at least made moves to open up some warehouses to get hobby supplies out to the community. On top of this, they’ll only be focusing on orders that were halted due to the crisis. as of right now, you can’t order anything on their webstore. They want to get their queue of backed-up orders first.

gw store opening 2Speaking of not being able to order from their webstore right away, you have Friday, May 1st to look forward to. That’s when they’ll open up sales channels off of their main website once again. However, you won’t be able to pick the ship-to-store option just because so many are closed right now. It would create more of a hassle for both sides of the package. With that said, you should also expect longer shipping times and things to remain out of stock longer than what you might normally see from GW.

GW Helps Independent Retailers With New Catachan Model

catachan colonel model independent retailerNow, I know that loads of you love supporting your local independent stores, and as the warehouses come back online, we’ll be able to start resupplying them. While many of them aren’t open for business right now (and it may be some time yet before they are), we’ve come up with something special to help them out when that time comes. We’ll be sending our independent stockists a supply of a very special edition Catachan Colonel free of charge, so they can keep every penny they make!

While businesses can only do so much in the times we live in, GW looks to be doing the very best they can. From opening channels up early, getting orders out to people who have been patiently waiting, and even giving independent retailers a free shipment of exclusive models, this goes to show that we’re all in this together as one community.
