GW just teased a new rule for the upcoming Sons of Behemat with a preview for one of the named Mega-Gargants: Bundo Whalebiter!
Sons of Behemat are the next big AoS faction that’s about ready to release. Now that Lumineth Realm-lords are squared away, we’re beginning to see more and more about these big dudes.
So far there are three model types to choose from for Sons of Behemat that we know about. However, depending on your Alliance (Order, Chaos, Death, Destruction) you can also take a named Gargant that offers something unique.
Faction Alliance Unlocks Named Mega-Gargants
GW gave us an early teaser showing that depending on the other faction you’re playing with Gargants, you have the option of bringing a named character.
Just who is Bundo Whalebiter? Allow us to explain! Sons of Behemat is coming out before too long, and in it, you won’t just find rules for an army of gargants, but a set of mercenaries that let you add a named Mega-Gargant to your armies! Order and Destruction forces can take Bundo Whalebiter, a towering (and surprisingly cunning) Kraken-eater. If your Lumineth Realm-lords need some extra punch, make sure to grab him when the Mega-Gargant kit drops!
As far as things are looking, depending on what kind of Alliance your army is a part of (Order, Death, Destruction, Chaos), you’ll have a certain named character (which is the same model but probably with different rules) unlocked for you.
GW Unveils Named Mega-Gargant’s Rules- Bundo Whalebiter

For Bundo Whalebiter, he’s had a rule revealed showing how he’s unique over other Kraken-eater Gargants. Dead Cunning, For a Gargant is a way for him to get max damage on his attacks, at the cost of fighting last.
This ability is powerful in the right circumstance. Obviously, you’d want to fight first if you’re going against something like a Mangler Squig that’s about to tear you a new one. However, if your opponent is just trying to tarpit you with some Clanrats or something that has high model count but horrible damage output, you can fight last. That way when your turn does come around to fight, you’ll swat away whatever is at your feet.
Gargants Or Orruks Getting Support in Next White Dwarf?
We know that it’s only a matter of time before we see the Sons of Behemat but there may also be some support for them coming in the next White Dwarf. Our guess is that it’s either Sons of Behemat or Orruks…
On the back of the latest White Dwarf, there’s a teaser of what’s on the way in the next issue called Glogg’s Megamob. “Glogg” sounds about right for a Gargant. However, “Megamob” also sounds totally fitting for an Ironjawz warband.
