1st Place: Conan Jennings – Space Marines Army Lists
With three Ballistus dreadnoughts, two Vindicators, and a Gladiator Reaper in the lineup, this list didn’t tiptoe toward victory. It stomped.
Leading the crusade was a tried-and-true Ultramarines command squad featuring a Captain in Gravis armor (thicc with tactics), a Lieutenant wielding a combi-weapon (for when one gun just isn’t enough), and, because subtlety is for Xenos, the dynamic duo: Marneus Calgar and Roboute Guilliman.
You know—two guys who turn your army into a well-oiled machine and also happen to hit like falling buildings.
With the leadership handled by what might as well be Ultramar’s version of a celebrity panel, Conan packed the rest of the list with everything the Codex Astartes (or Oath of the Moment) says makes problems go away.
Three Ballistus Dreadnoughts showed up, said “hello,” and immediately started deleting key units from halfway across the board. These things are the backbone of many modern Marine lists, and for good reason—they shoot, they tank hits, and they look intimidating enough to draw every plasma cannon’s attention.
A unit of Company Heroes tagged along to offer elite muscle with the kind of weapon options that make opponents wonder what they forgot to screen.
The Gladiator Reaper brought more firepower in case anyone thought this list might be running out. Fast, mean, and very good at pointing at large threats and saying, “Those dudes? They’re gone now.”
For a touch of board control and flexibility, Conan sprinkled in an Infiltrator squad (always handy for messing up deep strike plans), an Invader ATV (zippy, surprisingly dangerous), and a Scout squad (cheap, annoying, and often underestimated).
And just when it looked like the heavy support might cool off, the two Vindicators rolled in—twin siege shields down, demolisher cannons locked and loaded. If anything, thought it was safe behind cover, it wasn’t for long.
Also, did we mention Oath of the Moment, lol? This is the exact same list played by the exact same player who won Adepticon.
2nd Place: Folger Pyles – Eldar / Aeldari Army Lists
3rd Place: Brian Daugherty – World Eaters Army Lists
Final Thoughts on Army Lists
And there you have it—Space Marines stomped, Eldar schemed, and World Eaters did what they do best: punched their way up the leaderboard. Not bad for one weekend in Dallas.
If you’re eyeing that podium yourself, steal some ideas, mix in your own flavor, and remember: dice may be fickle, but good lists and smarter plays stack the odds your way.
Best of all, looking at those winning army lists and how their tactics work together can really give you some great insights for improving your own strategy. It’s a smart way to up your game!
