So as soon as I saw the Sevatar model I knew I had to have it. After already painting Konrad I pretty much had the color scheme that I wanted down.
The blue in the armour starts with a basecoat of Altdorf Guard Blue. the next layer is a 60/40 mix of Altdorf and Teclis blue working it higher up on the model leaving the lower areas Altdorf.
Then repeat the process with a 40/60 mix. Then work the highest layers just Teclis. Once all this is done edge highlighting was done with Baharroth Blue.
The skin tone I wanted to stay pale as they spend most of their time in complete darkness. The basecoat was Kislev flesh. This was layered on very lightly as to get more realism later.
After I had a nice smooth layer of Kislev I washed it in Druchi violet. This may seem strange but its really important on skin. It gives the blue red look thats naturally seen under skin. Next re-layer with kislev leaving the recess’s dark with the purple (especially around eyes, in the scars, and in the cheeks).
Then finally a brow ridge and highlights on the eyebrow ridge, the tip of the nose, the cheeks, the chin, the ears, and the upper lip were done with Flayed one Flesh.
The red for the hands was done starting with a base of Khorne Red. I use the same blending technique as used for the blue walking it up to Mephiston Red. Then its highlight edged with Evil Sunz Scarlet. Finally to finish off the model I added the lighting bolt down the leg using Ceramite white. This just requires a steady hand. Well happy painting everyone!!!
