So whether you love Orks, Guard, or just Kill Team, this is quite the announcement!
New Orks Kommandos & Plastic Death Korps of Krieg Revealed in Kill Team Octarius
Games Workshop took the covers off the new plastic Death Korps of Kreig models and Orks Kommandos models that are coming in the third Kill Team starter set that is on the way soon!
Plastic Death Korps of Kreig
A whole squad of Death Korps of Krieg in plastic? Yes, it’s finally happening in Kill Team: Octarius. Life is nasty, brutish, and short in the ranks of the Death Korps, but their preferred style of attritional warfare ensures that those who do survive pick up a dizzying array of skills along the way. Disciplined, determined, and with a complete disregard for their own mortality, the veterans of Krieg make ideal candidates for the harshest missions their commanding officers can find.
Ten new models are on the way for the Death Korps of Krieg, and probably best of all, they are in plastic!

With a little luck, these will be the first of a whole line of new DKoK models ported over from Forge World, or perhaps even fresh new designs from the GW studio!
Plastic Orks Kommandos
Derided by their fellow greenskins for their sneaky, grot-like ways, Kommandos look for any opportunity to put their unique skills to good use, and they delight in close-range carnage. This is the first time Kommandos have appeared as a plastic kit, and they’re the most characterful Kommandos we’ve seen yet. We love the nods to classic special-ops archetypes, like the Ork who loves his knives, and the heavy gunner who looks like he’s about to empty his ammo reserves into the jungle at the slightest noise. This kill team proves that ‘80s action movies would have clearly been better with a squig or two in them.
These 12 new models are definitely some of the best-looking Ork miniatures in a while, and they are not even everything coming for the Greenskins!
Also coming in this set is all this Orky new terrain as well!

Kill Team Octarius
Excited to get your hands on Kill Team: Octarius? You won’t have to wait long – pre-orders will be available in August, and you’ll want to keep an eye out as the boxed set is available only while stocks last (don’t worry if you miss it though, as all of the models will be available on their own shortly after). In the meantime, stay tuned to Warhammer Community for more in-depth looks at Kill Team: Octarius as we get closer to pre-order day.
Look to order this next month, and perhaps more conveniently, the models will be out “shortly” after as well. Pretty cool if hobbyists don’t have to worry about missing out on this box, as the models inside will be out shortly after.
After the Pariah Nexus, Cursed City, and Dominion debacles, GW definitely seems to be more upfront with their offering details lately, and we certainly appreciate that!
New Death Korps of Krieg & Ork Kommandos Sprues
During the preview stream, they also cracked open the box, which means we got to see some of the sprues!
When they first open the box you can see a ton of sprues. On top, its terrain sprues with a mix of Orkish and Imperial Machinery, which helps set the tone of the Kill Team box and future battlefield.
Further into the box, there are more terrain sprues, mostly consisting of what looks like walls, giving cover to each army from each other in the game.
Here’s all the terrain from their product promo shots for reference:
Ork Kommandos Sprues
Finally, we can check out the model sprues, which there seems like there are at least 3 squad-sized ones for Orks.
Taking a closer look at the Ork Kommandos sprue, we can see a few torsos and plenty of weapon options ranging from flames to choppas, sluggas and more.
Other than the squad-sized sprue, there is a full-size one also for the Ork Kommandos. Of course, checking this out reveals more body parts and even more weapon options, there probably isn’t enough to kit a full squad of the same weapons, however, there are still plenty to pick and choose from for your game of Kill Team.
Plastic Death Korps of Krieg Sprues
Next up and last but not least are the new plastic Death Korps of Krieg. They seem to have a similar amount of plastic with 3 more squad-sized sprues. This half sprue seems to be loaded up with the extras like weapons, shovels, backpacks, and base bits.
As for the “full sprue” for DKoK, this is everything else! This sprue has its classic overcoats, legs, helmets, some weapons, and other design bits. Seeing no cross-over on the sprues is encouraging for a potential separate release later down the line.
Maybe they will even add in extra sprues for complete squad loadout options, but chances are this is probably just a command squad type offering judging by the equipment each model has.
Which of the new models (or terrain) are you most excited for in Kill Team Octarius?
