Sureheart AoS Post

Games Workshop has just one release for this week and it is for Age of Sigmar. Come check out the Lord Celestant Gavriel Sureheart!

The after Christmas release week is a sparse one with just one lone kit for Age of Sigmar. The Lord Celestant Gavriel Sureheart kit does signify that more Age of Sigmar releases are coming. We have seen several Nurgle previews and we do know that their Battletome is coming as well. For now, our very own Rob Baer has this new Lord Celestant kit on his paint bench to give you a quick review on what you can expect to see with this kit.

We discover in the video why this model was put out with the other ETB kits this holiday season. It’s secretly an Easy to Build kit as well.

Lord Celestant Sureheart

This kit is a multi-part plastic kit with one sprue and a 40mm base. One thing you will notice immediately is that the base is pre-punched. More on that shortly. There is no shortage of details for this model as seen in the engravings on his armor and weapons. He also has a large amount of seals, which is to be expected of a Lord Celestant. His 8 components are easy to put together and, while this kit is listed as a multi-part, it is entirely push-fit.

Gavriel Sureheart rules

Sureheart’s datasheet is available as a free PDF download. His stats are similar to that of a standard Lord Celestant model but the difference lies in the gear and abilities. Sureheart is armed with a Starbound Blade and a Sigmarite Thundershield. Starbound Blade only differs from the Runeblade by having one less attack but deals 2 Damage. The Thundershield will allow Sureheart to re-roll save rolls of 1 and, if successful, enemy units within 3″ of him suffer 1 mortal wound. His command ability is also unique. It will add +3 to all charge rolls made by friendly Stormcast Eternal units that are within 9″ of Sureheart at the start of the charge phase. Essentially, Sureheart is a more aggressive Lord Celestant and emphasizes a get stuck in style of play.

Rob goes over the kit in detail and compares this kit with another push fit model in the complete review video below!

Lord-Celestant Gavriel Sureheart: $35

The leaders of the Stormhosts, exceptionally gifted warriors who ride into battle in blazing fields of azure light, the Lord-Celestants are respected for their tenacity and battle skills even amongst the immortals. Gavriel Sureheart is a valiant champion of Sigmar’s Stormhosts, casting aside the enemies of Order with an imperious sweep of his starbound blade.

This multi-part plastic kit contains the components necessary to assemble Gavriel Sureheart, a Stormcast Eternals Lord-Celestant. He’s clad in the impressively bulky armour that his brothers wear, but Sureheart eschews the standard helm – he comes with a bare head, showing clearly his furious expression and long, flowing hair. He holds aloft a starbound blade as long as he is tall, inscribed with powerful runes, and a Sigmarite thundershield – this is different to the shield held by most Lords-Celestant, being similar to the round variant held by Dracothian Guard. Each and every surface of the model is littered with the iconography of Sigmar, from the sculpted shoulder pads to the carved greaves.

This kit comes as 8 components, and is supplied with a Citadel 40mm Round base. Rules are available as a free download.

The Lord Celestant Gavriel Sureheart is available now online and in local Games Workshop stores. Be sure to press play on our quick and dirty review video below for the full product breakdown.
