All The New Assassins Models for Horus Heresy

assassin-releases-forge-world-horus-heresyHere are all the new Assassins that are on the way for Horus Heresy as they fill out all the temples of the Officio Assassinorum.

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, depending on how you look at it), these will all be in Forge World resin. While it’s not a huge deal, it’s just something to keep in mind.

Let’s jump into all the minis!

New Horus Heresy Clade Venenum Assassins

Clade Venenum Assassin

It is said that the Assassins of the Clade Venenum had the highest success rate among the Terran Temples during the Age of Darkness. Their Assassins were selected from the finest alchemists who could create exotic concoctions that could cause death without leaving any metabolic trace.

Sometimes poison is the way to go if you need to take down some tough enemies! Especially with all the espionage and infiltration of the HH, this could be the perfect assassin to take down your foes!

Clade Venenum Assassin 2

The new miniature is cast in finely-detailed Forge World resin. In games it can unleash a toxin ejector and a hookfang to poison your enemies. The poison on the hookfang is so effective that it causes damage long after the initial attack. If the target is unfortunate enough to survive first contact, that is.

As one of Malcador’s agents, the Clade Venenum Assassin can be fielded by Loyalist forces, and rules for using them in games of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy will be available in Liber Imperium.

The model itself is actually pretty cool, and there is nothing wrong with adding more assassins to the ranks. They say it will be released soon from Forge World, but don’t give an exact date. However, a lot have been MTO orders recently, so just something to keep in mind.

Horus Heresy Vanus Infocyte Assassin

New Assassin

Operatives of the Clade Vanus use information as their weapon, processing staggering amounts of battlefield data and detecting enemy troops from the moment they arrive. Their advanced augury equipment can even peer into the noosphere – the veil of communication between machines and their controllers – and twist transmissions to their own ends.

The model itself is really cool and fits in quite well with the other assassins. Plus, having another assassin in the ranks allows for some fun things to happen.

With the keys to friendly and enemy weapon systems at their fingertips, Infocytes can intercept newcomers with a barrage from their own allies’ weapons. They can also wreak havoc on the internal systems of Mechanicum automata, making them perfect counters to the robotic legions of Traitor Taghmata.

There are plenty of really cool details on the model!

Forge World Horus Heresy Clade Adamus Assassin

Assassin Horus Heresy

Nothing demonstrates the lengths that either side would go to in order to win the civil war better than the assassins deployed in the Horus Heresy. We’ve seen the Clade Infocyte Assassin, who uses information as a weapon, and the maestro of terrible toxins – the Clade Venenum Assassin. Now, it’s time to meet the final Loyalist Assassin – the Clade Adamus Assassin.

The Adamus Clade is believed to be the oldest of the formal orders of Assassins, and its operatives are experts in the art of the decapitation strike – proving that old Terran adage about the body dying if you can kill the head. They study how their enemies fight, noting their strengths and learning their weaknesses, which they ruthlessly exploit. In-game, the Clade Adamus Assassin is fast and absolutely lethal in melee, able to go toe-to-toe with almost any foe – and defeat them with their nemesii blade.

This is a pretty cool mini, and if you need to take out enemy characters, this will be the assassin to do it! Plus, you might have to add a kill tally somewhere on the mini whenever he kills someone in-game.

old imperial assassin

While it might not be as interesting as the other clades who use poison, etc, sometimes having an old-fashioned assassin is just the way to go.  Speaking of old-fashioned, some of you out there may remember the original model pictured above from the Rogue Trader Era (the late 1980s).

Assassin Horus Heresy 2As we said, this will be from Forge World and in resin, but considering this is the last of the assassins in this line (at least from the sounds of it), we expect to see all of them pretty soon!
