Animated Pacific Rim: The Black Coming to Netflix

Pacific Rim feature rNetflix just teased a new Animated series to bring the Kaiju back with Pacific Rim: The Black! Check out the trailer and what we know.

Warning all citizens of Australia! The Kaijus have made it there and that means you’re in serious trouble! The new animated series is going to be a partnership with Legendary Television Studios and Polygon Pictures. It is going to be animated, and if you ask us, this bodes well. Because you can basically do anything you want when it’s anime.

Obviously, this one is based on the 2013 movie directed by Guillermo del Toro and the series will be premiering on March 4 on Netflix exclusively.

Since basically, every streaming service is going to series over one-off movies this makes sense. Hopefully, they will do it justice and we’ll all be talking about how great this is in a few months. Anyway, with that, let’s get into the trailer!

Animated Pacific Rim: The Black Coming to Netflix

Pacific RimThe trailer opens up with Australia looking like it’s getting destroyed. They already have enough dangerous animals there, the last thing they need are Kaijus attacking.

Pacific Rim 3While this jager rests dormant, we assume it won’t for long! This is just a teaser and they don’t really show any fighting, but we expect to get another trailer before too long.

Pacific Rim 2It’s time to suit up! The animation style is pretty slick and we’re all for where they’re taking the show so far. The two in the trailer are siblings and they mention are trying to desperately find their parents. But once they realize no one is coming to help, they suit up themselves. There is also mention of “Drifting” so it looks like they will keep that narrative going.

Are you excited about this getting turned into an anime series? Will you be watching this when it comes out?
