Are ad hoc PDF Experimental rules returning from Games Workshop for studio conversions they make, or for exclusives they sell? Come see the latest!
Way back in the day Games Workshop used to drop “unofficial” experimental rules pdfs, now called datasheets, for everything under the sun they would make/ convert at their studios. Heck they even put our a template for folks to make their own even.
This actually was the basis for many of inspiring conversion out there from the iconic Land Raider Ares to all the special edition supplements the Fly Lords of Terra put on on Bell of Lost Souls nearly 10 years ago.
Fast forward to now, and we have seen TWO of these new experimental rules releases now from Games Workshop, with the latest being the Razorback Rikarius.
The Razorback Rikarius – Free Rules
Shawn O’Leary was inspired by Rik’s conversion and so decided to send us a datasheet he’d made up for it. We thought it was cool (and so did Techpriest Rik) so we made a datasheet for Rik to use in his games. This is entirely unofficial and just for fun, but we wanted to share it with you anyway.
No matter what side you fall on the debate of if GW is a game (rules) or a model company, we think everyone can agree that rules spur sales as well as growth in the hobby. Two things that this hobby sorely needs these days, and let’s be honest too, who doesn’t love a good conversion right?
Question is, will we be seeing more”unofficial” new datasheets from Games Workshop, and how should they play on the tabletop, composition wise?
