Horus Heresy’s Sanguinius Revealed By GW

Warlike, elegant and dynamic, Sanguinius is a stunning addition to the Horus Heresy Character Series. This is an instantly eye-catching miniature that’s both a fantastic gaming piece for the Horus Heresy and an incredible collector’s item.

If his pose looked familiar to you, that’s because it’s a pretty close match to the classic painting above. Of course, there are a few minor changes like the hair and the leg posing…But you get the idea!

Sanguinius is a real work of art…but you may be right if you think it looks like something is missing.

Sanguinius With Display Base

Warhammer Community revealed Sanguinius with his other weapon option as well as his diorama base at their Heresy Weekender Feb 2nd, 2019:

This version of the model mounts Sanguinius upon a stunning display base, triumphant over a fallen Daemon in a scene that looks like something out of a stained glass window in an Imperial cathedral.

We can also unveil Sanguinius’ second weapon option – the Spear of Telesto! This will come packed with the standard and special versions of the kit, allowing you more choice as to how you arm Sanguinius for yourself.

More on that fantastic looking weapon and his sidearm as well below are showcased in the instructions breakdown.

Here are some great looking pics of the miniature itself with the base from Andrey Nalyotov who is at the event posting to Facebook from there.

From this angle you can see the left hand is indeed part of the diorama base, so be careful when assembling this magnificent primarch!

From the looks of this, there is plenty of room to assemble both weapon options for the primarch on his base!

The stone that’s holding him up is actually attached to his cape and part of his left foot.  If you wanted to snip him off and make your own dynamic base, you’d just have to be careful around those parts.

Instructions for Sanguinius Primarch Model

Hobby Hero Garro is on the scene at the weekender and posted up the instructions for Sanguinius. He said:

An interesting note to not use the left hand (4.) for the Diorama base. Perhaps he is holding onto something or someone…  Also, note the option for the Spear of Telesto (with holstered Moonsilver blade) or the Blade Encarmine that we have seen pictured so far.

The kit seems to feature a lot of dynamic Roman-esque straps around the shoulder pad areas.

Has the long wait been worth it for Sanguinius? What do you think of the weapon options and his base now that they have been revealed? Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
