Clea is joining Marvel Crisis Protocol soon and we’re excited because she’s the true ruler of the Dark Dimension!
We’ve been seeing previews for the new Dormammu set for a while now, but today we got some rules for his “niece”! If they start posting the full cards and rules, you know it won’t be long till the release. It looks like we’ll see these all stores in September, and they are already on pre-order ( use this link to get yours here).
For a 3 Threat, she packs some really cool abilities and the ability to risk damaging herself to get more powerful. This comes from Atomic Mass Games and we love that they are starting to do more rules previews like this.
Let’s jump into the stats and new mini:
Clea joining Marvel Crisis Protocol Soon!
The model just looks awesome and will be so much fun to hobby on. Last week we took a look at the new Doctor Strange, which makes this even better timing considering Clea is his disciple.
Doctor Strange pulled her to Earth for training from the Dark Dimension. She’s almost as powerful as him and with her heritage, you know she is powerful.
Let’s hear what they have to say about the model:
Clea is the child of an unusual pairing, a mortal from the dark dimension and one of the Faltine, entities born of raw magical energy. Her mother, Umar, was condemned to the Dark Dimension, and because of Umar’s vast magical potential, Clea can wield mystical forces with a capability possessed by few. She has joined Doctor Strange on his many adventures, lending her strength in the mystical arts to his own. When she is not found assisting the sorcerer, she reigns as the rightful ruler of the Dark Dimension.
New Character Card:
Let’s take a closer look at her new abilities:
Clea hits the tabletop with a respectable package of abilities for her 3 Threat. For offensive abilities, she calls upon the powers of the demons Denak and Ikthalon to punish her foes. With the Demon Claws of Denak, she conjures a set of spectral talons to tear at a target, with the potential to inflict the Bleed condition as the claws tear into her foe.
As a descendant of the Faltinian Umar, Clea has inherited a portion of her mother’s power. She can draw on her heritage with the power Descendant of the Faltine. When she does, Clea immediately gains 3 Power but must roll 5 dice, taking 1 damage for each failure rolled. While it’s a risky move, it provides Clea with just enough Power to pull off a Chains of Ikthalon attack or one of her other powerful spells.
From the looks of it, she’s a watered-down Red Skull ability-wise, with some Mystical attacks build in. At 3 threat she’s useable, but maybe not in as many lists as we would like to think.
That does it for this one, just another cool character to look forward to this fall for MCP!
