Looks like GW is trying capture the interest of both veteran and new collectors alike with their Warhammer Quest Game. Checkout the latest on their “plans”.

BoLS is reporting today that this Mighty Heroes expansion is just the top of the Warhammer Quest iceberg! Are their more expansions on the horizon?

Industry insiders tell BoLS the following:

  • Warhammer Quest is going to be an ongoing product line
  • More expansion packs are planned.
  • Look for rules overlap with Age of Sigmar – AoS Clampack minis will begin to ship with Warhammer Quest stat cards in the pack.
  • Look for both faction and location themed Warhammer Quest expansion packs in the future.
  • This is a measured two pronged strategy aimed at both attracting new players, and giving veteran customers with mature collections new avenues for playing and purchasing from GW.

Personally I like the expanding quest line, as great looking miniatures from Age of Sigmar get bundled at a discount now right? The Mighty Heroes at $55 seems like a steal for these four miniatures that sold for around $30 each in their individual forms:

  • Slaughterpriest $30
  • Tzeentch Sorcerer $30
  • Knight-Ventor $40
  • Auric Runemaster $30

Plus it looks like Games Workshop has silenced all their “Kickstarters are better because you get expansions” critics with this back to back core and expansion release with these hints to more planned expansions.

All in all I think GW is making the right moves these days, and can’t wait to see what’s next!
