Control the Cosmos With the New Seraphon Slann Starmaster Rules!
These come from Warhammer Community.
Slann Starmasters are puissant wizards of Order who have retained many of the iconic abilities that make them so rightly feared but now get two new spells. The Slann can call upon the Celestial Equilibrium of the cosmos to boost the casting rolls of all friendly Wizards on the battlefield by 1, while the Shield of the Old Ones grants them a personal 4+ ward save against mortal wounds.
Celestial Equilibrium is really sweet if you have a bunch of spell casters and can be a huge buff. Shield of the Old Ones isn’t bad, and with a 4+, you might be able to save this from a lot of mortal wounds.
Seraphon army construction is now divided by the ethereal Azyr-charged Starborne and the more flesh-and-blood Coalesced, each with their own personalised Enhancements.
Slann in either army can access the Spell Lore Drain Magic, which boosts dispelling rolls for friendly units and interferes with enemy unbinding rolls. Starborne Slann can invoke sorceries like Tepok’s Beneficence, an 18” range spell that subtracts 1 from wound rolls for attacks that target these more fragile minions.
Starborne Slann are also the ones you want if you’re a fan of heavenly ordnance and want access to the classic Comet’s Call ability.
Drain Magic is another excellent buff considering you’re going to have so many spell casters, and Tepok’s will really help with the new Skink calvary and keeping them alive. Lastly, it’s nice you can get Comet’s Call again to smash the enemy!
The Slann who command vast temple-cities have adapted to their realm-based existence, focusing instead on more sublunary magic, sending violent fissures across the battlefield. When The Earth Trembles, any unit standing atop these rupturing ley lines suffers D3 mortal wounds on a roll of 4+.
This is pretty insane, as you could probably get three or four units in the line relatively easily. Just be sure to position your Slann in a way to get a ton of units in! If you get four units, you should deal 2D3 of mortals, and if you can get more units, the damage just goes up.
