Top 40k Army Lists Bold City Slap-Fight RTT
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we are able to look back at the event as if we were there ourselves.
3rd Place: Julian Pagan- Death Guard
2nd Place: Mark Perry- Chaos
1st Place: Gabriel Rocheleau-Adeptus Custodes
Gabriel went with a single Patrol of Shadowkeepers supported by a Culexus Assasin for anti-psyker support and led by Trajann Valoris and Shield-Captain on Jetbike. These two offer both re-rolls and fantastic combat stats on a good body. Custodian Guards serve as the basic troop choice who add a few bodies and can help take advantage of those re-roll auras.
The only Elite is a single Vexilus Praetor who has the unique ability to force opponents to subtract 1 from hits rolls in the shooting phase against any models within 6″ of the praetor, making already durable units even harder to kill. Looks like this one can also deny the witch with the Warlord trait he gained from Ten Thousand Heroes as well.
Fast Attacks have a 5 man squad of Venatari, who are more mobile thanks to their included jump packs. In Heavy Support we see two Telemon Heavy Dreads going full melee mode with double Caestus, meaning these guys will hit like an absolute truck if they get into melee (which with eternal penitent giving them +1 A and re-roll charges, chances are good).
Finally, the big point-sink in the list, an Ares Gunship. which comes with great ranged weapons and the ability to drop bombs every turn constantly dishing out mortal wounds. On top of that, it’s extremely hard to kill thanks to its 22 wounds at T8, hard to hit, and a 5+ Invulnerable save.
Custode Victory- Congrats to Gabriel on the win!
Custodes have won this time, but what do you think about all three of these most recent lists? Are these lists meta?
