The new General’s Handbook is almost out, and with it is coming more box sets for Age of Sigmar. Come take a look at what will be available for pre-order.
Games Workshop just gave us a look at what will be available this weekend, and it looks like we’ll be seeing the new General’s Handbook and box sets. Let’s see what they had to say about them.
It’s nearly here – the General’s Handbook 2017 arrives next week for pre-order. Every Warhammer Age of Sigmar player is going to want this book – it’s packed with new ways to play, new ways to build your army and all sorts of updates to make the game more fun than ever. We’re already previewed some of what you can expect, from new rules for matched play and open play, to what Order, Destruction and Death players have to look forward to for their armies – check them out right here on Warhammer Community.
For the truly dedicated, the Warlords Edition of the General’s Handbook is packed with extras that’ll help you with your games. As well as cards for every battleplan in the book, you’ll be able to get your hands on turn trackers, tokens and more – you’ll be perfectly equipped for a new age of gaming in the Mortal Realms.
With the new Open War cards, you’ll be able to generate new battleplans for your games in seconds – there are 62,208 different combinations of objectives, deployment plans, game-changing twists, cunning ruses and sudden death conditions meaning that every game between any two armies will feel fun and fresh. Get a closer look at what these cards can bring to your games in our preview of open play.
If you’re looking to take advantage of the new allies rules for your army, there are loads of boxed sets on the way that are designed especially for that purpose. Each one of these boxes contains around 400 points worth of miniatures – perfect for slotting into a 2000 point matched play army – and is made up of useful units for your army. The Collegiate Arcane Mystic Battle Wizards, for example, is a great way to add some much-needed magical support to your forces of Order, while the Warherds Bloodfeast Gorgers gives any Chaos force a pack of hungry beast-kin for breaking through enemy lines. You’ll also save some money compared to getting all the models separately. Curious about the new allies system? Read our preview of what this means for your army.
Finally, we’ll be making the scenery from the Deathworld Forest set available separately. Build a deadly forest of Shardwrack Spines, add a creeping infestation of Barbed Venomgorse to your Sector Imperialis, or decorate the base of your Wraithknight with some Eldritch ruins – the choice is yours.
This looks like it’s going to be a week of loaded new releases for Age of Sigmar. We’re getting the new General’s Handbook, as well as Open War cards, new box sets, and terrain. Make sure you check back in with us later for the full list of pre-orders and prices.
