Don’t miss the new Dark Eldar 40k Venom rules that were spotted in a new datasheet coming for the 9th Edition Drukhari codex.
Recently we saw new rules from GW on Warhammer Community for the Kabalite Warriors. We also saw similar datasheets to the Venom spotted for Wyches, Warriors, and Drahzar, so expect to see more up to the codex release.
New Venom Drukhari 40k Rules
There was an Ikea style sheet of his rules spotted on Bolter & Chainsword so let’s compare it to the old sheet and see what’s changed.

New Rules
New Bonuses:
- +1 Attack (was 2, now 3)
- Splinter Cannon now Heavy 3 with S3, -1 AP, 2 Damage (was Rapid Fire 3, S User, 0 AP, 1 Damage)
- Twin Splinter Rifle now S2 (was user)
- Blade Vanes now S+1 (was flat S4)
What we don’t know:
- Poisoned Weapons?
- Open top?
- Invulnerable Save?
- -1 to hit in the shooting phase?
Overall, assuming the Venom isn’t losing its abilities, this seems like a decent buff. Small tweaks and changes but nothing too major. If you played Venoms previously, you’ll probably continue to, but you might not be convinced if you didn’t like them before.
Look for the Druhkari codex to hit store shelves soon. As it’s the next major codex release for 40k going on pre-order at the at the end of March
What rules changes do you want to see from the new Dark Eldar? Are you happy with the Splinter Cannon changes?
