Predator 5 is in the works with a new director and direction entirely- so if you hated the last one, this is good news!
The last Predator movie was met with, let’s say, less than glowing reviews. They took the criticism to heart and are changing up all kinds of stuff with the new movie. They said they aren’t going to be following the story of the last one and are changing up tons of the production staff as well.
Let’s be honest, it will never be as good as the first one, but we can hope the new team makes a decent movie. If you loved the last one, well, be ready for something different.
New Director Coming to Lead Predator 5
Dan Trachtenberg, who directed 10 Cloverfield Lane will be taking the role of Director. The news was revealed on Twitter and then confirmed by him later. While that movie had the backdrop of an alien invasion, it was more of a psychological thriller than anything. That makes us wonder which direction he will take this movie in. Maybe the series really needs something like this to stay relevant. Not that people won’t flock to watch a new Predator movie, but just interesting to see how he imagines it.
For the writing side of things, they are bringing Patrick Aison onboard. Some of his credits include Treadstone, the Kingdom series, and Jack Ryan. So he seems to line up fairly well with what the series is all about. Again, they will not be following the storyline from the last one, so this is pretty wide open. They have kept all the story elements fairly under wraps, so we’ll just have to wait and see on that side of things. But there have been some rumors it will take place hundreds of years in the past. Fantasy Predator? We’re in for it.
The only remaining factor of the original team is Producer John Davis, who has been on all four of the previous movies.
