If you love DreadBall, WWE, and sci-fi, the new Overdrive game by Mantic might just be right up your alley- check it out!
Mantic Games has a great line of minis and hobby accessories and has also kept their prices low instead of raising them like certain companies. While they have tons of great minis, they also have some amazing Terrain Crates that will keep your tabletop full of great terrain! If you’re looking for some fun alternative minis or games, they are worth a look!
The newest game was announced on their Summer preview, which you can check out the whole thing here. They previewed a bunch of stuff they’ll be releasing over the next few months, but this game really caught our eye. It seems like a super fun and fast-paced game without having to grab a ton of minis. Let’s take a closer look.
New Overdrive Game Announced by Mantic Games
This will be hitting stores late this fall and will be a full box game you will need to play. It comes with 6 minis, the board, tokens, and more. The game is made to be a fast game that is fun and can be played a couple of times in a night if you wanted.
It is set in the Warpath Universe and has a few different ways to play. The core game is set up very much like King of the Hill, meaning you have to get your players into certain areas, while your opponent tries to stop you.
These are the 6 characters starting out in the game, but we assume if it does well they will continue to keep releasing champions. It has some similarities to DreadBall, but with a bunch of differences. So even if you’ve never played DreadBall, you should be able to jump in. The turns are alternating, so you don’t have to sit around for long at all each round. You can also play one-off games, or a league style, where you can get sponsorships for your players, build up your team, etc.
