MalekithThis just looks cool, and having a model riding a giant bog tiger is a cool direction for the game. We won’t complain if they keep the prices like this for bigger minis.

Malekith 2Let’s hear what they have to say about the new mini:

The ruler of the Dark Elves begins his conquest in this new pack for Marvel: Crisis Protocol! Entering the game riding his mighty Svartalfheim bog tiger, Malekith uses magic and deception to bring his enemies down and wage war across all the Realms.

Malekith Rules & Character Card

Malektih Cards

Wielding the Blade of Midnight, he can hew through almost anything the Nine Realms (or the secret Tenth) can throw at him. This basic Energy attack is Strength 7 and has the Pierce special rule, allowing it to cut down his foes. When foes surround him, the Accursed can unleash his mystic power in a roiling energy field to curdle his foes. Blood Boil is a Beam 4 mystic attack that can inflict the Poison condition on those it damages as the blood in their veins writhes.

Anything riding a Bog Tiger, you’d expect to be strong!

Malekith Cards

When Malekith confronts his most fearsome foes, he can unleash his full power and fury as the self-appointed Butcher of Thors. This physical attack hits at a mighty Strength 10, places Malekith anywhere within Range 1 of his target, and has a chance to inflict the Bleed, Shock, Slow, and Stun conditions when it connects!

Someone with Malekith’s personality and history wants to lead, not follow. Thanks to his new Cabal Leadership, The Dark Council, he slots perfectly into that role. This alliance of beings from across the Realms benefits from the ambitious dark elf’s guidance and lets its members gain power, remove damage, and advance any time a member of the Cabal Dazes or KOs an enemy.

Malekith Tactic Cards

Malekith tactic cardsPhantasmagoria seems strong right off the bat as it’s a major displacement, and he gets to remove tokens. Especially considering he can use his attacks to get even closer to the enemy, so pretty interesting. Then, with Bifrost, he or team members can be transported to the token, which is pretty cool and really gives him a ton of movement.

Nick fury

Nick Fury, Sr. and the Howling Commandos arrive ready to smash Hydra in this new pack for Marvel: Crisis Protocol! An elite soldier who has fought in theaters across the world, Nick Fury, Sr. is a strategic and tactical mastermind who never rests in his mission to keep monsters at bay.

Nick fury 2

He is joined by the Howling Commandos, an elite unit that has accomplished many great deeds on the field of battle. Operating together as a single miniature, they are ready to take on the most difficult missions regardless of the challenges before them.

Nick Fury Sr. & Howling Commandos Rules

Nick fury RulesThey actually have some pretty cool rules; let’s check them out!

On the tabletop, Nick is joined by the Howling Commandos Timothy “Dum Dum” Dugan and Gabriel Jones. The trio goes into battle with advanced Prototype Weapons that can lay down a barrage of Strength 5 firepower while the Howlers pursue their targets, using a rapid series of “shoot and scoot” maneuvers. If they need to clear targets out of an entrenched position, a salvo of Grenades leaves their foes blasted and Incinerated. When it comes time to finish the job, the Howling Commandos can decide The Show’s Over, going in for a Strength 6 attack that can be either Physical or Energy. Thanks to the special rule Pour it On if the attack roll produces any wilds the Howling Commandos can follow up with an attack with their Prototype Weapons. Take that, Hydra!

Nick fury Rules 2But that’s not all they can do.

Despite not being super-powered, Nick Fury and the Howling Commandos do have some fascinating powers on the tabletop that represent both their experience in battle and their close bond. Siblings in Arms demonstrates the Howling Commandos’ willingness to get stuck in to a tough situation if one of their allies is in peril, letting you choose an allied character within Range 2 and either place the Commandos in Range 1 of it as they rush in to help, or place the character within Range 1 of the Commandos as they pull a friendly out of the hot zone.

Got Your Back is how you know the Commandos never leave a man or woman behind. You can use this reactive power whenever an allied character is dazed or KO’ed by the enemy. The Commandos bring their weapons to bear and unleash a Prototype Weapons attack on the enemy responsible, possibly giving their injured companion a chance to get clear.

Tactics Cards

Nick fury RulesThese are both pretty interesting, and with how the commandos work, you get a ton of movement shenanigans. Then being able to place the commandos on the battlefield where your opponent doesn’t really expect is just cool!
