Streaming giant Pandora announced that they would be bringing Podcasts into their app where people can stream them on the go. Podcasts have come a long way since their first days. They used to only be available for download on the iPod. Let’s take a deeper look at what Pandora is doing!
Pandora Will be Streaming Podcasts
Pandora (NYSE:P), the largest streaming music provider in the U.S., today unveiled its podcast offering, powered by the Podcast Genome Project, a cataloging system and discovery algorithm that uses a combination of technology and human curation to deliver personalized content recommendations.
Would you believe that as long as Podcasts have been around, 83% of Americans aren’t listening to Podcasts on a weekly basis… and there’s a Podcast out there for almost anything.
As a way to promote Podcasts in the media, Pandora will be rolling out a new section on their app. People can stream a whole selection of Podcasts as well as get new ones recommended to them when they’re finished.
It’s all still in early access right now. But you can sign up and see if your account gets approved to test the new addition.
