People are Already 3D Sculpting New Skaven STL Files

new skaven 3d stl files age of sigmar wal horPeople are already 3D-sculpting new Skaven model STL files based on what we’ve seen in the new Age of Sigmar trailer!

While we don’t know everything the Skaven will get in the new edition, there are plenty of hints and teasers from GW and Rumor Engines. This has led to people making 3D prints based on what they have spotted! Just like when Angron was taking a long time to release, people quickly made prints of him as well.

People are Already 3D Sculpting New Skaven STL Files

Let’s start with the only full kit we’ve spotted in the wild (and the one being sculpted).

AoS Skaven Weapon TeamThis image is not officially from GW, so take it with as much salt as you need. Rumors are just that, rumors! Still, this looks pretty legit, and with GW confirming Skaven to be in the starter box (and this in the teaser video), we’re saying this is probably the real sprue.

The date even says 2024, and the molding looks similar to what we would expect from a Games Workshop kit. Plus, the bits look good. No AI or Photoshop here at all. These parts definitely look like something that could be in a launch box, as it’s set up with big push-fit ETB pieces and full rats as singular bits.

AoS Skaven Weapon Team 2This has been seen all over Reddit recently, and now someone has already done a sculpt for it!

3D Sculpting New SkavenThis latest New release 3d Stl file comes from Reddit, and it’s awesome how fast someone mocked this up to be printed out! It is pretty ironic that the very first comment on the post is that perhaps this (being people creating 3d sculpts of unreleased models) we haven’t seen any miniatures previewed yet…

Which, to be fair, is honestly a good point, as 3D printing seems to be moving faster than Games Workshop a this point. People can scan these images in no time and make the models before GW even releases them.

3D Sculpting New Skaven 2This isn’t the final version, but if you saw this on the tabletop, you wouldn’t bat an eye compared to the other for an alternative. Again, this happens a lot when GW reveals something (or it is leaked), and the product actually takes a while to be released.

Just look at Angron!

Angron Was Not Out Yet, But His 3D STL Files Were…

Angron 3DThis is the render spotted online that really got us thinking. As you can see, they look quite similar. Whoever sculpted this has a ton of talent! And as we said, this happens every time Games Workshop drops a bit of a new release preview.

Plus, if you know where to look, it’s not very hard to find free 3d STL files for a lot, and we mean a lot of Warhammer models out there.

Some are great alternatives and 100% okay to buy and sell; others are more 1:1. However, this also raises the dangers and risks of selling GW-styled files. As we saw with Gamza recently, while they thought they had changed enough on the model to make it their own, they were still hit with a GW strike.

Either way, the fast pace of 3D printing has made it possible for hobbyists to create models even before Games Workshop can release them. It’s interesting to see how quickly they can turn rumors and teasers into tangible models. With the Skaven confirmed to be in the starter box, we can’t wait to see what else GW has in store for us!
