Tau Blasts Through The Iowaaagh! Open 40k Army Lists
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings, we can look back at the event as if we were all there ourselves.
3rd Place: Tyler White – Sisters of Battle
2nd Place: James Kelling – Eldar
1st Place: Oliver Smith – Tau
Oliver’s Tau that took the win was a two-detachment setup. The first was a patrol led by 2 Coldstar Commanders, which feature a mix of anti-armor and chaff sweeping weapons on extremely mobile bodies that are very point efficient.
Troops keep it to a minimum with 10 Kroot, while Elites bring in 5 more suits for another mix of anti-armor and chaff sweeping to help have ranged answers for any target.
Fast Attacks bring in 8 Kroot Hounds that can tie up units for a turn while being very cheap bodies.
Heavy Support also brings in two Hammerheads, which are the Tau tanks offering up some serious firepower on an armored chassis.
The Second Detachment is another patrol led by a third Coldstar Commander, bringing in some redundancy.
Troops keep it at the minimum again with 10 Kroot. Elites again bring in a few suits, this time 4, with a mix of chaff-clearing and AP, which can help with various targets all game long. Fast Attacks bring in… yep, you guessed it, more Kroot Hounds for those cheap distraction pieces.
And finally, closing out the list is a Sun Shark Bomber to help chip out free damage from the skies (hopefully) all game long.
