Atomic Mass Games (AMG) has been doing a great job of keeping things interesting as of late. So far we really like the updates and new release for Marvel Crisis Protocol. On their blog, they previewed the new character cards for the Juggernaut.

Also, if you want to pre-order one for yourself, you can right now here.

Marvel Crisis Protocol core set feature rDont forget to check out all the new changes for the game that went into effect on November 22nd here as well.

Let’s take a look at one of the most anticipated models in a while!

Juggernaut Rules For Marvel Crisis Protocol

Juggernaut cardsUnder the first inspection, he obviously has some serious strengths! With things like I’m the Juggernaut!, his Helmet, and stun immunity. Basically, it feels like they did a good job of capturing his unstoppable nature. Here’s what they have to say about the cards:

For those truly heavy hits that he’s known for, may we offer you his second attack: I’m the Juggernaut! This attack is a real one-two punch. After paying its Power cost, you get to land a thunderous strike that hits at Strength 7. Then, you get to use Cain’s active power immediately; Nothing Stops the Juggernaut. This ability reflects the truly indescribable power of the Juggernaut once he’s at speed. Like a living wrecking ball, he is pushed a Short distance. If he contacts a piece of interactive terrain of Size 3 or smaller, he doesn’t stop, and the terrain is obliterated as he barrels through it. If he contacts another character during this movement, then that character takes 1 damage, and his movement stops.

Injured Side

Juggernaut cards 2Once he goes to the injured side, his helmet comes off and that means his rage is free to explode! Even though the helmet has some nice abilities, it gets replaced by Avatar of Cyttorak. Which lets him start throwing things all across the battle.

On top of that, he just has some decent stats and seems super fun to play with. Offense isn’t his only option either, he is pretty great at defense as well. Here’s how they reflected that power:

This is reflected by him having a good 8 Stamina, solid physical defense, and the Nice Punch reactive power, which allows him to shrug off some of the damage an opponent inflicts. He also wears a special helmet that helps to protect him against psi-energy.

Team Tactics Cards:

The kit comes with three team tactics cards according to the AMG site.

Makin a ruckusWe also spotted this card on the interwebs, and it’s pretty awesome! Keep your characters close to Juggernaut and he’ll be able to strike back hard. It’s not the most game-breaking thing around, but it is strong and needs to be remembered when you pick your targets.

Juggernaut cards 3Versatile Strategy is very strong because it’s unaffiliated and lets you have a ton of versatility in your leadership abilities, which is always nice! Then, do you know who I am let’s him throw something long, which is extremely rare. While it is strong, we’re not sure if paying 3 to play this card is worth it. We’ll have to play against him more and see!

Editor’s note having played against the big guy already he feels more like a 6 threat character than a 5 but seemed to go down fast once he flipped and got hit with some mystic attacks from a hammered and Mordo-ed Cable.

I also thought I was clever staggering him on his front. Turns out he IS the Juggernaut, bitch.
