Look out, the US Open Seattle 40k GT happened over the weekend and saw Tyranids Warhammer 40k army lists in the top spots!
The tournament is over, and now we’re able to look at which lists managed to secure a place at the top! Check out what these winners brought in their armies.
US Open Seattle 40k GT: 40k Army Lists
Thanks to Best Coast Pairings we can look back at the event as if we were there ourselves.
If you wanted to see the names and factions of the overall winners, we’ve included that below.
3rd Place: Steven Trimble – Tyranids
2nd Place: Tyler Bortel – Tyranids
1st Place: John Lennon – Tyranids
John went for two detachments of Tyranids, with the first led by a Neurothrope and a Winged Hive Tyrant. The Neurothrope provides some cheap psychic support. The Tyrant on the other hand is mainly a solo threat that is very mobile and can lay down the beat stick.
Troops start off with a total of 9 Tyranid Warriors, all of which can pump out 3 shots every turn for pretty decent chaff clearing, or run into melee and hit pretty hard too.
Elites start off with a Maleceptor that serves as another psyker and can pump out mortal wounds. 7 Pyrovores serve as some cheap models that can explode for mortal wounds, while 3 Venomthropes help to protect nearby units. Zoanthropes offer up even more psykers on the list.
Fast Attacks close out the first detachment of 15 Raveners which are some more durable threats, with some extra ranged capability to help clear out opponents from range.
The second detachment is a patrol led by a Tyrant, which like the first one lays down the hurt, but unfortunately not with mings this time around.
Troops bring in 10 Gargoyles which are some cheap bodies. The list closes out with a Parasite of Mortrex, which pumps out mortal wounds and can deep strike in. There is also a single Harpy as a mobile flying threat to deal some chip damage every turn.
