New 40k Space Wolves Codex Rules Leaked Ahead of Release

The new Space Wolves 40k Codex rules are out of the bag—Grimnar’s back, the Headtakers are hungry, and new heroes are here to fight!

So yeah, the Sons of Russ might have a new rulebook inbound, and it’s already causing more uproar than a Thunderwolf in a china shop.

While leaks are flying around like Long Fangs on Overwatch, and while a lot of it smells legit (let’s be honest, all of it), you might want to sprinkle some snow-salt on it. GW hasn’t given it the sacred rune of “official,” so don’t start carving your new list into stone just yet.

If these 10th Edition Space Wolves Codex leaks are the real deal, the pack’s getting a serious shake-up—less berserker blitz, more cunning clawwork.

From a non-sled Grimnar to drop pod drama, here’s what “allegedly” is coming, and why your army might need a fresh round of ale and rearming.

What’s New in the Fang?

Space wolves CodexThe new Space Wolves codex hits like a Fenrisian winter—sharp, thematic, and surprisingly tactical. We found these floating around on the internet, and you can see them here!

  • Logan now hands out CP discounts like they’re Fenrisian mead, deep strikes with his dogs, and still smashes face.
  • Ragnar is peak rage gremlin with Sustained Hits 3, turning anything he touches into red paste.
  • Arjac? Still a walking mountain, but now your squad gets a 4+ fight-on-death just for hanging out with him. That’s some real anvil-of-doom energy.

And the detachments?

  • Saga of the Beastslayer lets you earn Lethal Hits vs big stuff by racking up kills on characters, monsters, and vehicles. Great if you’re into heroic duels and cracking armor with a roar.
  • Saga of the Bold is all about pulling off battlefield flexes (Boasts) to earn rerolls and buffs. Think of it as the “hold my mjod, I got this” detachment.
  • Saga of the Hunter rewards flanking, ambushes, and bullying squishier targets. Tons of movement tricks and hit bonuses—basically wolfy guerilla warfare.

Leaked Army Rules & Detachments

Space wolves Codex 2Oath of Moment
Same old vow of vengeance all Marines take. Nothing new here—just good ol’ Emperor-approved smack talk.

Unique Space Wolves Rules

Curse of the Wulfen
Only kicks in when your furry friends fight with their less bitey battle-brothers.

Gets spicy when a unit is:

  • Within 6″ of a Space Wolves Character (just not the Wulfen themselves),
  • Or 12″ of a Wolf Priest (assuming they’re not having a Battle-shock meltdown):
    • +1 OC for INFANTRY
    • +3 OC for VEHICLES (because wolves know how to hold an objective hard).

Sagas

Each detachment’s got its own heroic tale—complete it and unlock juicy bonuses. It’s like earning in-game achievements, but with more frost axes and fewer loot boxes.

Detachments

Saga of the BeastslayerSaga of the Beastslayer – Bonus rules for hunting big game: Characters, Monsters, and Vehicles. Once you’ve slain enough, you get Lethal Hits against those targets. Great for cracking open tough units with a bit of Fenrisian flair.

Saga of the BoldSaga of the Bold – Basically the “hero mode” detachment. Your characters rack up achievements (Boasts) mid-game and unlock rerolls and buffs.

We think it’s fantastic if you’re running named characters or just want your dudes to be dramatic legends.

Space wolves Codex Army RuleSaga of the Hunter – All about speed, ambushes, and brutal positioning. Boosts mobility and gives Hit/Wound bonuses when you pounce on key targets.

Looks excellent for hit-and-run tactics and harassing backline units like a true Fenrisian predator.

Big Datasheet Changes

Logan Grimnar – The Big Wolf on Campus

Logan GrimnarThe Chapter Master himself rolls in with a pack of wolves, a monster axe, and the wisdom of ten thousand winters. He’s tanky (8 wounds, 2+ save, 4++), hits like a truck, and once per game pulls a sneaky reserve redeploy like a bearded teleporting granddad.

Oh, and he makes stratagems more expensive for your enemy. Big boss energy.

Ragnar Blackmane

RagnarFast, furious, and full of Frostfang fury. Ragnar brings Sustained Hits 3 to melee, meaning he explodes like Fenrisian popcorn when he charges.

Buffs Blood Claws, screams war cries, and adds +2 Attacks just for charging. Absolute blender in a power armor bottle—just point and delete.

Arjac Rockfist – The Wall That Punches Back

ArjacBuilt like a fridge and hits like one falling off a cliff. Arjac tanks with a 2+/4++ and then throws his hammer at monsters, vehicles, or poor souls labeled “Character.”

His squad can fight on death when he’s around, and he gets rerolls against big names. He’s best deployed as the bodyguard you really regret messing with.

The Verdict?

Space wolves Codex

The Wolves are still savage, but now they’re cleverly savage. Each detachment has bite and brains, and the characters feel like legends, not just stat blocks.

If you like your Marines heroic, angry, and slightly feral— the new Space Wolves Codex is probably for you.
