The Empire has a knack for going places that you would least expect, and this ship cares not for which it goes for it will be taking down Rebel prey!
The Victory Star Destroyer is a reliable workhorse of the Imperial Fleet. This ship is well rounded with its ability to equip turbolaser and ordnance upgrades and can be a viable flagship. But this build will be best served as a disruption ship, one that will break away from the formation and deal out as much damage as it can, forcing your opponent to avoid it or deal with it. Either way, it will be a tactical advantage to have this ship in the face of the enemy fleet.
Admiral Ozzel will ensure that this Victory will be on the front lines of engagement. As an officer upgrade, Ozzel allows you to execute a speed 1 maneuver at the start of the first round. The slow Victory will relish this extra speed boost, effectively making it a speed 3 ship if you deploy at speed 2. Not a bad start for one of the slowest ships in Armada.
Once this Victory is within range of enemy ships, it can start punching through enemy shields with XI7 Turbolasers. This turbolaser upgrade weakens the effectiveness of the Redirect defense token, allowing for more damage to punch right through shields and to start eating into that sweet hull. While attacking a ship, the defender cannot redirect more than 1 damage on hull zones other than the defending hull zone.
This will prevent your enemy from spreading the damage onto neighboring shield zones and will get through to the hull in no time. Particularly effective against those nasty MC30s!
Since we will be ignoring shields with this build, why not go all in with some Advanced Proton Torpedoes? This ordnance upgrade allows you to deal out a faceup damage card as a black crit before damage is dealt to your target. This can result in a nasty critical that can make your enemy ship even more vulnerable to the onslaught of the Victory. But getting all these dice to hit their target can be a problem, but not for Warlord.
The most effective of the Victory titles, Warlord allows you to switch out an accuracy result for a hit. This can also be used to change a red die to a side with 2 hits and can go a long way into getting those fickle red dice to hit home. Since you are not concerned with locking down defense tokens with this build and relying on your raw power to take down your foes, this Victory will surely be a fearsome opponent!
