Looking to start painting your Adeptus Titanicus miniatures? We’ll show you 3 easy steps painting some of the best blues for Titans.
Grab your favorite class of Titan and get your paint ready for another tutorial with Spikey Bits’ own Rob Baer! Today we’re going to show you how to paint Titan armor plates blue.
Get your airbrushes ready and let’s get painting!
Step 1: Pre-Shade
We are starting off with a grey colored base coat using Citadel Ulthuan Grey that has a little blue hue already build into it. Hit all your plates with this color to build up depth for your blues, but leave some of the black primer edges still visible for free contrast!
Step Two: Basecoat
As always, start off with some Flow Improver in your airbrush and mix it with Citadel Kantor Blue. This Blue, applied lightly, will work very well to give us a nice fade on Titan armor.
Don’t forget to get all the way out to the cracks of the armor with the blue. This fade is done with about 30 PSI in our air compressor to help get a solid blue base coat. Check out how it should look over the grey and black from the previous step!
Step Three: Highlight
Once you are finished with Kantor Blue, wash out your airbrush paint pot, but leave a little bit of blue left. Leaving your previous paint in your pot can help smooth your paint transitions. Add a little more Flow Improver and grab your Teclis Blue. This new blue will brighten up our previous coat of blue paint on the Titan armor panels.
Keep your airbrush patterns tight and adjust your air as needed, and you can get the best blues on your Titans!
From there you can just trim out your blues with Sharpie markers (yes really) as we did in a previous tutorial.
