adeptus custodes limited edition

They have watched, they have waited, and now their time has come to enter the fray. Take a look at the limited edition Adeptus Custodes codex and see the awesome swag these protectors brought into the 40k universe.

The limited edition Adeptus Custodes set, also known as the Praetor Collection, sold out online but is still absolutely amazing. The collection included the codex, plus objective markers, datasheet cards, and a poster. Take a look at this quick overview then be sure to press play on the video below to see the entire unboxing and review.

The box set with the limited edition comes with the two books inside a hard case, emblazoned with the Aquila symbol and gold trim on the front and quotation on the back. One of the two books contains the collector’s items and the second is the codex itself. The book cover has a striking book, though the foil seems to flake off easily when rubbed. Inside the codex book the same as the same as the regular codex, aside from the cover, bookmark, and gold trim.

The second book has the same cover style, with sword motif, and quotes on the back as well. Inside, though is the awesome swag. This includes the double-sided poster, etched-brass objective markers, and data cards. The poster is printed on thick paper and features the codex cover on one side, plus a breakdown of militant houses on the other. The folds are done in such a way that it will be easy to smooth out for framing or mounting. The etched-brass objective markers are nice and heavy, with etchings on both sides and shaped like a Custodes shoulder pad.

The final addition to the swag is the datasheet cards. The data cards are absolutely fantastic. They are the same size as the data cards available for Age of Sigmar units but are printed with good size font and contain all the stats. These cards are fantastic time-savers when playing on the tabletop, preventing you from wasting time by flipping through the book for stats and having them in easily accessible cards.

This is the first time we’ve seen these cards for 40k, which gives hope that GW will do more like these in the future for other factions and units.

adeptus custodes bikes

Unit wise, the bikes are out and look absolutely amazing. Magnetizing the arms is a great idea since the lances can easily snap off during travel or use. They are smaller than the Legio bikes but are much more detailed.

There are other tips and looks into the comparisons for the units, including how to expand your Wardens list, so be sure to check out the video for these fun features! The dreadnought is also easily magnetized to adjust the weapons options, such as shields or other guns. There are some fantastic options to create unique and versatile armies with the various Custodes units.

We haven’t seen the 30k units ported over to 40k yet, but GW promised us rules for them at some point in the future.
