Can the Dark Eldar Drukhari take down Guilliman and the Ultramarines? Find out in our 8th Edition versus 40k Battle Report!
Juice is back in the beats lab, facing off against Brian in battle Space Marine vs. Drukhari. Using the Open War cards, the format and objective were decided. The objective drawn is Kingslayer, tracking kill points for Power Levels.
The deployment zone will be Dawn of War. For the twist, Orbital Debris was drawn, having each player roll 3 dice at the start of their turn and for each roll of 6 get to inflict D3 mortal wounds onto an enemy unit. Brian won the first turn, so the Drukhari get a great advantage off the bat.
Brian has two battalions for the Drukhari. The Coven has Urien and a Haemonculus leading the charge, bringing nine Talos (in three units of three), Wracks, and three Venom. The Kabal of the Black Heart battalion consists of two Archons, three squads of warriors, and three Ravagers with disintegrators.
Juice has brought the Danger Zone Ultramarines, painted by Max Dubois from Hellfire Painting and seen at Adepticon. Guilliman and Tigurius lead the way, being supported by a jump-pack lieutenant, six assault cannon Razorbacks, three squads of marines, five scouts, and a Storm Raven.
For Brian’s first turn, he aims to take down the Stormraven first. The Ravagers came in on the building near the Archons. The Talos aim to shoot at the Razorbacks but do not make any wounds against the Ultramarines.
The Ravagers fire against the Stormraven, dealing 8 damage to it immediately. The Talos use their stratagem to move eight inches after shooting, moving within the building to be behind terrain.
Juice’s first turn aims to move across the board and draw out the models within the building. Tigurius casts Might of Heroes on Guilliman and successfully casts Smite for two damage on a Talos. The Razorbacks are going to split against the Ravagers, killing one and doing four damage to the second Ravager. The Stormraven aims for the Ravager, doing two damage.
The Stormraven also fires into the group of Talos, but the Talos survive. Guilliman charges into the building and hits them with nine damage. He ends up taking two damage during the retaliation.
With one Ravager down and one limping, the Drukhari have some catching up to do to match the Power Level kills. Will they be able to overcome the Ultramarine’s feistiness?
