Vigilus Defiant is the focal point of even more rumors and new supplements for Warhammer 40k going into 2019. Check out what might be coming in the future.
Hobbyists claiming to be in the know have been talking about future supplement books headed our way sometime down the line of 2019.
Come take a look at the latest things people are saying about the Vigilus Campaign.
Take everything with a grain of salt. These are RUMORS.
Where We Are: Vigilus Defiant Book I
Vigilus Defiant is supposed to stand as the first major arc in the 40k 8th edition storyline. Marneus Calgar just got Promoted to Primaris and a new named character (Haarken Worldclaimer) has come to rip Vigilus from the clutches of the Imperium.
He apparently told Abaddon he would have the planet within eighty days of his arrival.
Of course, with all of the Orks launching Waaaghs!, GSC conducting guerilla warfare-type strikes, and Ultramarines just now showing up to the party, Haarken might be in for a rude awakening.
So what will we be seeing when all of this is over?
Rumors of What’s to Come
Rumors are saying that two more books are scheduled sometime in 2019 to advance events from Vigilus even further.
The next book should have Abaddon and Robbie G battle against each other on Vigilus once the Ultramarines and Black Legion lock each other into a stalemate.
This would be another major narrative arc with Abaddon being forced to answer for his actions on blowing up Cadia. With the highlight of the campaign being Abaddon vs. Guilliman, this could also be the perfect opportunity to give ol’ Abby a new model.
Moving to the final book, the setting won’t be on Vigilus, however, will still be somewhere in the Imperium’s territory. Blood Angels will be involved with Khorne.
We know that they DID just get saved from being eaten alive by a Tyranid swarm by Ka’Bhanda (A named Blood Thirster dating all the way back to the Horus Heresy, who crippled their primarch on their first meeting). When the Ultramarines arrived to Baal, all they found was a mountain of Tyranid skulls erected in Khorne’s symbol.
The third book may show exactly where the Blood Angels ran off to. With all the Primaris excitement, we may see more named characters step into the Rubicon Primaris. Dante is 100% for Primaris troops. However, Gabriel Seth, Chapter Master of the Flesh Tearers wants absolutely nothing to do with them.
Primaris Blood Angels have been “cured” from the Black Rage which relieves Dante. On the other hand, Gabriel calls them “fake” because the Black Rage is what make a Blood Angel.
You can see where there’s some inner conflict within the Chapters as well as almost being eaten alive by Tyranids, and now possibly slaughtered by a Bloodthirster. –Fantastic story plot.
