Here’s what the Black Templars looked like on the table when they first debuted over 20 years ago in Warhammer 40k 3rd edition!
If you remember the 3rd edition starter box, you remember a great time for 40k! You may also have been playing this game for, shall we say, a little bit of time… The box itself was really sweet with the best army ever, Dark Eldar (we all know it’s true, sorry Rob), and the Black Templars.
Come see some awesome Black Templar brought to us by our very own Rob Baer. The crazy part is, these were painted over 20 years ago and was Rob’s first fully painted Warhammer 40k army.

The nostalgia is strong with this one! When you compare these to the new releases, oh how things have changed. Still, the Space Marine models have been pretty sweet for a long time.
Even back then Rob made sure to paint up all the weapon options.

One thing that hasn’t changed a ton is the trusty Rhino. While there are some new pieces, the essence of this has basically remained the same for over 20 years.
Noce the awesome assassin conversion there! It’s even morphing to the colors of that poor, poor Dark Eldar Warrior.
Now that’s a banner to write home about! The good old days of just a blank piece of pewter to do whatever you want with!
For the time, Rob had quite an awesome collection of tanks!
