The next 3 Psychic Awakening books are on the way. Ritual of the Damned, The Greater Good, and Saga of the Beast were just teased at 40k open day.
8th Edition has had plenty of events shake up the galaxy. From Abaddon launching his latest crusade to Blood Angels getting almost kicked off their home planet, there’s a lot of hustle and bustle in the galaxy right now. Looking at the factions and their locations across the Imperium here’s what we could be seeing going into 2020 and beyond.
Warhammer Community teased the next 3 titles of the Psychic Awakening books
An entire day dedicated to Warhammer 40,000? At Warhammer World, the official home of the hobby?! Sounds like an awesome day out, right? But for those of you who can’t make it to today’s event, we don’t want you to miss out on all the latest news.
Let’s start with some potential spoilers for book IV Ritual of the Damned:
40k’s Next 3 Psychic Awakening Rulebooks?
Sablednah managed to dig deep into the Warhammer Community site and pulled out some pretty exciting finds.
This is what the Psychic Awakening map looks like currently.
Using the HTML code, the map would zoom in on certain sectors of the galaxy. Looking at which faction’s homeworlds were closeby, here’s what we could be seeing soon.
Things To Keep in Mind
- GW has already said that every faction would have a stake in the Psychic Awakening expansion.
- The pattern could be a new character/book for every faction involved
- We may see old character models get updated
- This entire event could run the course of a few years as that’s how long it took for each faction to get their first codex (since 2017).
- The order of events/factions to get support looks unclear.
Event #4- Astartes Planets
This area of the map was zoomed in on when a “4” was plugged on the site.
Finally, Prospero, The Rock, and Fenris are all neighbors currently next to each other with a few spattering of Guard planets nearby like Catachan, Ryza, and Armageddon. We already know that Space Wolves and Thousand Sons have especially bad blood with each other. The Dark Angels are also standing right in the middle of the two. We could be seeing books for:
- Space Wolves
- Dark Angels
- Thousand Sons
- Imperial Guard
- If the Admech doesn’t have involvement with Terra on what we talked about above, they could even show up here.
GW Teases Psychic Awakening Books 4, 5, & 6
Warhammer community put up a post of the reveals from 40k open day. Among the reveals where the next three Psychic Awakening books!
But there’s more – we can treat you to the release timeline and titles of the next three books in the series after Blood of Baal – coming in January, February, and March respectively!
We’ve also got a pretty solid tease at who the 4th book: Ritual of the Damned could include, and it seems to match the rumors above:
In a video they put up, we can see the three previous books on the map represented by rotating coins with the emblems of each faction involved. The next book is very close location-wise to book 2: Faith and Fury. The coin for Book 4 has the emblems of Thousand Sons, Grey Knights, and Dark Angels.
The voice-over in the video can be assumed to belong to a Thousand Sons character, as he describes his old home of Prospero to be under attack.
Each book will be accompanied by an epic champion to lead the charge in this terrible age. These legendary heroes will include reborn, reimagined and brand-new characters, but we can’t reveal any more details at the moment.
There’s also positive news involving models! They say Legendary so we can assume these guys won’t be push-overs. Anything from a lieutenant, to a returning Primarch, are on the table here.
From the video, the full teaser for book 4 looks to be coming on Christmas Day.
Tau and Orks look to be the factions that will feature heavily in book 5, and 6 respectively. Yeah, Xenos!
