There’s been quite a few point changes for Chaos Space Marine units and weapons. Come find out our list of what’s changed, points wise from the Index book.
So how much did the points change from Index: Chaos to the new points in Codex: Chaos Space Marine? Let’s take a closer look.
The pictures below are from the Codex: Chaos Space Marine with the old points from Index: Chaos written next to them in pen.
Needless to say a lot of things have changed, however this is not a exhaustive list. Make sure you consult both books before you point up your next army.
The points have dropped significantly on a lot of things. The Baleflamer was cut in half, going from 60 points to 30 points. Another big point reduction was with the Helforged Sword that dropped from 42 points all the way down to 10. The weapons weren’t the only things to take point reduction though.
Characters like the Khorne Lord of Skulls dropped by 100 points, and Abbadon the Despoiler dropped 113 points, are going to free up a lot of extra points for your lists. Only a couple things went up in cost, like the Reaper autocannon, Power fist, and Pairs of Brimstone Horrors. But to be honest the point increases aren’t by much, just 1-3 points on each.

All in all, it looks like the Chaos Space Marines are going to be able to bring a couple more upgrades, or a few extra units with these new points. Is there anything you think should’ve been adjusted but wasn’t? Let us know in the comments below.
