Looks like the rumors were true and tons of new 9th Edition 40k Necron models were hidden in plain sight amid leaked images
Games Workshop just revealed their latest news and previews on Twitch and Warhammer Community for the new Nercons, but there were lots more new models out there. Let’s take a look.

9th Edition 40k Necron Models Pics Hidden In Plain Sight
Here are the rumors from around the web, we had heard about Necrons and new 9th Edition 40k up to now:
- September a new edition will drop and Necrons will be the new bad guys in the block.
- Some finecast units might get redone, I think the flayers were brought up.
- There are rumours of a new Necron codex as well for 9th.
- A new edition cycle will begin, so ya know what to expect, we have been trough this for a few times now.
New Necron Warriors Models Are on the Way
Necrons are finally getting their update! New models are always exciting, especially when it’s an older faction. (hopefully, some more of their finecast models get updated too)
First there is the standard warrior here a more “damaged” look as they are just begging to reanimate after their slumber. This will most likely mean you may have some more painting freedom with the new line-up!
Along with the standard warrior we also got a glimpse at the Heavy Weapon option for the squad. He’s ready to lay down the hurt.
Necron Models Pics Hidden In Plain Sight
Warhammer Community put out better quality images from the grainer one that was floating around the web over the weekend.
GW Confirmed the earlier leaked images by uploading the full-res version of the same picture. Other than some comments by Eddie Eccles, this picture is covered in yet-to-be-announced models! Let’s break it down more below.
This is pretty hard to see in detail, but with the confirmation of the other picture, the likelihood of this Codex one being real is higher, so this may potentially be authentic! We will have to wait and see if any of it gets confirmed, most likely sooner than later.
Necron Silent King Szarekh Model Teased Again!
We don’t really get a good look at him, but we do know that he or the thing he is on is powered by a C’tan! Pretty cool stuff. Hopefully we get more on him before too long!
We get a few glimpses at the structure/machine and it is filled with iconography.
There also appears to be multiple models on the machine. It looks like there are three Necrons total, most likely two servants and the silent silent king.
Lastly, on top there is a C’tan. It looks like it is trapped and being used as some sort of power supply for the structure.
The top right of our newly confirmed image has what we can assume to be none other than the Silent King himself as this model seems to match the one in the video exactly.
More New Necron 40k Models
Over on warhammer40000.com we got some new art of a never-before-seen model! We can assume this is some new elite or troop due to the opposite side being a standard marine (with sword and shield). However, we haven’t seen this yet. Maybe its part of the new line-up and we still have more to see!
We also have a picture from the site confirming the tri-legged model from the teaser that was chasing the Sister of Battle! Although unlike the cinematic trailer, this one has 3 whole weapons instead of just the giant blade!
The claw and ranged weapon are both new additions. Perhaps it will have multiple weapon options and load-outs?
More New 9th Edition 40k Necron Models Pics
This image is littered with new models! Let’s try to break it down into two main sections.
In the lower-left alone there are four new Necon models. A Quad Pod walker, a character, some new hunch-back models, and a potential updated Heavy Destroyer!
On the right side there are also a couple of new Necron models for 9th Edition 40k. Most of the models in the middle are old or have been revealed. However, on the far right we see a similar smaller walker to what we saw on the left side. We also see a huge C’tan like figure along with the Silent King next to him. Behind the C’tan in the distance, there look to be some structures we haven’t seen before.
Maybe Necrons are getting a terrain piece too?
