Astartes YouTube Warhammer 40k Film Channel is Back!

astartes walIt’s baaack! Astartes initially took off as one of the most successful fan-made short film series for 40k. After some sudden hardships, the channel is back!

Astartes on Youtube is a channel ran/produced by one fan with some graphic design skills. After putting the first video on the web, popularity grew exponentially. After a few more videos, his account actually got hacked and held for ransom. Finally, Youtube put the account back in the right hands. Take a look at all the details.

Astartes Account Finally Recovered

There was a bit of a hold up for quite a while as hobbyists sat and watched everything unfold. Essentially, the account was hacked and held for ransom.

Hey guys. Monitoring this flurry of activity about my channel being sold and bought. Have been contacted by what seems to be two different people offering to give it back, one of them hoping to be reimbursed the money they spent. Naturally I’m very suspicious and even if they’re sincere it’s a very awkward situation.

Of course, the owner didn’t pay the price and finally, Youtube stepped in and got the account back to the rightful owner.  The creator has all this to say from his Patreon page, which you can continue to show support

Woohoo! Just when I was about to give up hope I got an update from YT this morning and later today my channel was restored. I’ve had to fix some of the naming and images which might take awhile to take effect, and Part One looks to have some copyright issue with the music it used which is puzzling, but other than that it’s all back! Thank you so much to everyone for the support, the community’s response really has been amazing.

All in all, other than a longer-than-expected wait time for Youtube to recover the account, as well as a few minor issues in the videos, it looks like Astartes will be back on track creating short films. He’s even got a progress gif of Part 5 on his Patreon for supporters!

And just in case you want to watch the videos all over again or have no clue what all the drama is about, you can sit back and enjoy his work:

Astartes: Episode One

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-MteECxZUY

Space Marines are preparing to breach into an enemy ship from some kind of assault shuttle. They perform their blessing rites over their Bolters and lock into the rig.

We aren’t sure what Chapter these Space Marines are from. They could be some brother Chapter from something like Raven Guard.

Astartes: Episode Two

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfGPMJ8A0QY

Space Marines breach the hull of the enemy ship after surviving enemy fire. Then, proceed to do what Space Marines in the lore. They walk through enemy fire and obliterate the problem in a matter of minutes.

Astartes: Episode Three

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMGRa4_UjE4

The video shows the Astartes making some serious headway into the ship they boarded. The Heretics inside scramble to find the weaponry powerful enough to crack the Space Marine’s Ceramite. However, as usual, the Marines walk through the fire with no issues and continue deeper inside.

LATEST: Astartes Episode Four

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2B6de1Geks

After wading through small arms fire from Traitors, the Space Marines seem to have met their match. Two Psyker-like enemies are guarding some kind of Vault and the Space Marines pull off a mean ambush. Of course, Battle Brothers never leave each other to fight alone and pull off one of the coolest fighting scenes we’ve ever watched.

With all of this happening, we should have a sigh of relief as we know that hackers are back under control once again. Plus, we get to look forward to even more videos on how the fluff portrays Space Marines.

What are you hoping to see in video five?
