Cranes & Tractors: Sector Mechanicus Terrain Unboxed

Sector Mechanicus Releases

Take a look at three of the Sector Mechanicus terrain kits. Let’s see what’s inside and their quality!

These terrain kits include the Promethium Forge, Galvanic Servohaulers, and the Ferratonic Incinerator.

Each kit contains 2-4 sprues as Games Workshop was able to take six different new sprues and make seven different kits by combining them for each kit.

Well that is with the exception of the Servohaulers kit!

Sector Mechanicus

Speaking of which, the Servohauler kit is a 100% new sprue kit and is made of different type of material and better quality than what we have seen in the past (i.e. the Age of Sigmar first terrain sets). The kit includes a tractor, crane, and dozer.

Sector Mechanicus Promethium Forge: $90

Promethium Forge

An incredibly detailed, striking scenery set, the Promethium Forge is a modular plastic kit compatible with the entire Sector Mechanicus range – detailed, configurable scenery that will help you play games on a multi-level environment!

A large collection of walkways, pipes, platforms and equipment, the Promethium Forge is a splendid scenery set that provides a great terrain piece for your miniatures to battle over. Featuring a central tank, with a huge, detailed chimney, the kit features a number of walkways and platforms that can be assembled around the Forge in a whole load of different configurations, clipping into place with the plug-in holes. Each piece of the kit is covered in incredible detail, with pipes beneath the walkways, valves, displays and fans covering every surface and ladders allowing you to build multi-level structures. Of particular note is the huge, skull-shaped winching mechanism which can hang under whichever walkway you choose. Rules are included for using this scenery piece in games of Warhammer 40,000.

This kit contains 4 frames of plastic components – one featuring the tank and chimney of the Forge, one filled with supporting legs and two filled with platforms – and is compatible with every other kit in the Sector Mechanicus scenery range, meaning massive, multi-level labyrinthine structures can be built for your battle to be fought on. They can even be combined with the Haemotrope Reactor, Promethium Relay Pipes and Void Shield Generator. Your imagination is the only limit – no two gaming tables ever need look the same!

Sector Mechanicus Ferratonic Incinerator: $70

Ferratonic Incinerator

An incredibly detailed, striking scenery set, the Ferratonic Incinerator is a modular plastic kit compatible with the entire Sector Mechanicus range – detailed, configurable scenery that will help you play games on a multi-level environment!

Made up of a cylindrical structure – the Incinerator itself – with a set of 4 industrial walkways and a central platform, the Ferratonic Incinerator provides an excellent, massively configurable platform for your miniatures to battle over. The Incinerator, covered in detailed pipework, valves and Mechanicus symbols, can be used as a central pillar with the walkways and their sidewalls clipped in place wherever you like using the plug-in holes. Included are 4 ladders and a set of legs – the walkways can be constructed above each other, and used to connect multiple Sector Mechanicus scenery pieces together. 3 different small cranes and winches are in the kit, and every single piece is replete with details, from information displays and pressure control valves to vents, fans and Adeptus Mechanicus maker’s plates. Rules are included for using this scenery piece in games of Warhammer 40,000.

They can even be combined with the Haemotrope Reactor, Promethium Relay Pipes and Void Shield Generator. Your imagination is the only limit – no two gaming tables ever need look the same!

Sector Mechanicus Galvanic Servohaulers: $50

Galvanic Servohaulers

A highly-detailed, evocative plastic scenery kit, the Galvanic Servohaulers are a set of 2 haulers and a large crane, which open up a host of modelling options with which to add linear obstacles to your gaming table, providing cover for your miniatures and evoking a lived-in, working feel to the industrial scenery of the Sector Mechanicus range.

The 2 servohaulers themselves are remnants of ancient technology; little more than powerful engines with tracked wheels, they’re covered in iron plating, and feature a hydraulic crane and robotic arm – these pieces are interchangeable between the two. Both servohaulers feature Adeptus Mechanicus symbols and large, almost primitive exhaust systems – there’s nothing elegant here!

The crane is a much taller machine, a skeletal frame of iron holding a chain, three-clawed grabber and winch with a large engine block and Adeptus Mechanicus symbols on the sides.

The trailer that the crane fits upon can instead fit a Munitorum Armoured Container; this kit has been designed with an eye to mixing and matching components from that kit and creating your own obstacles and cover in industrial environments. Also included are a toolbox and fire extinguisher, because in the grim darkness of the far future safety is still a top concern.

A scenario is included for using the Galvanic Servohaulers in games of Warhammer 40,000.
