Daemon Primarch Fulgrim Is Already In 40k Psychic Awakening

Fulgrim primarch wal horWe had heard the rumors earlier in the year about Fulgrim coming to 40k, and it looks like he’s already in Psychic Awakening…

In 2019, rumor after rumor on the Emperor’s Children seems to come and go. Take a look at some of the earlier rumors on Furlgrim and his Legion, as well as what was just spotted that may be quite relevant now…

Emperor’s Children Codex Rumors

If Fulgrim comes back, it would only make sense for his Legion to back him up.

There are rumors swirling of the Emperor’s Children getting a codex, in the same vein as Death Guard and Thousand Sons before them. This would be a large full release with all manner of new minis.

Coming from BoLS, there were more rumors saying that we could expect to see:

  • Lucius the Eternal rework
  • New Noise Marine kits
  • Fulgrim
  • Noise Marine Terminators
  • Fabius Bile rework
  • possibly a Noise Marine cavalry unit (Would these guys just be riding Seekers of Slaanesh)?

Fulgrim & Spoiler Alerts About Psychic Awakening

No, seriously it’s about to get deep, turn back now if you haven’t read any of the new supplements for Psychic Awakening…

Yvraine H&S

Fulgrim or some sort of creature matching the description of the elevated Daemon Primach Fulgrim lead a traitor host (The Great Cacophony) of ceramite armor against both Guardsmen and Ulthwe Black Guardians in the Blood of the Phoenix book.

If that description sounds familiar it may be because you may remember the last (small) Daemon Fulgrim model from the 1990s. Modeled on a 25mm base, this epic scale mini’s four arms were equipped with three swords, and a whip.

This is at least the second time we’ve seen Fulgrim, or a creature matching his description, wantonly slaughtering guardsmen in 8th edition 40k lore:

Another Nod To Emperor’s Children

Fulgrim Is Daemon Primarch Fulgrim Next For 40k?

Back when Chaos got all of its support for Vigilus Ablaze, GW made a comment saying that the new Chaos Marine sculpts were 100% compatible with the existing Noise Marine bits. Some fans were upset as they though GW glazed over the entire Emperor’s Children faction.

However, it could be that they were leaving a window open for more focused support to come later on. (This is assuming all of these rumors are true, of course).

Remember too, there is a Death Guard, and Thousand Sons Codex books currently. An Emperor’s Children and World Eaters addition would complete the big four and give GW two more opportunities for new releases that are very desireable judging by the other new Chaos Marines in 2019.

  • 2016: Magnus & The Thousand Sons
  • 2017: Mortarion & The Death Guard
  • 2018: 8th Edition Codex Creep
  • 2019: Fulgrim & The Emperor’s Children?
  • 2020: Angron & The World Eaters?

An Imperial Ally Against Slaanesh

Also spotted in Blood of the Phoenix was a female in black power armor with a white shock of hair, who was accompanied by an Eldar with two longblades on his back. The female was said to possess a psychic aura so powerful it stung the mind, which could mean that Sister Ephrael Stern and the Pariah have been introduced into mainstream 40k.

Straight out of the pages of Daemonifuge this duo, along with the Ynnari, look to be teaming up to battle the Dark Prince and the forces of Slaanehsi in book two of Psychic Awakening. Which GW has already previewed as containing both Sisters and Emperor’s Children along with other loyalists and renegade Astartes as well.

Psychic Awakening: Faith & Fury

Titled Faith and Fury, this could also be a clue to the name of the next supplement book (or starter box set) as well:

Faith and Fury Against the Darkness

We know book 1 was Aeldari’s Phoenix Rising, and now GW has teased what looks to be book two already. Plus this preview looks to line up with what Sablednah rececntly decoded from the Psychic Awakening website…

So what does this all mean? Maybe a lot, maybe nothing. But it is unlike GW to tease something more than once, and not capitalize on that hype for too awfully long.

Either way, book two of the Psychic Awakening is on the way most likely within a normal 2-3 month preview window from the first mention. Plus if Blood of the Phoenix was an indicator, Slaanesh is just getting warmed up.

What do you think about the latest batch of rumors?  Who needs a model rework more? Lucius, or Fabius?
