Welcome back 40K Fanatics! Today Rob is showing us a piece of 40K history! One of the very first Resin Thunderhawks produced by Forge World!
This classic Forge World Thunderhawk was painted by none other than Next Level Painting’s Kenny Boucher back in the long lost year of 2014! With the upcoming release of the new (Not Plastic) Thunderhawk from Forge World it’s time to take a look back at all the amazing details this kit brought to us well before the days of extensive computer design!
This beast is huge! Ranging almost 20″ in both length and width this is a serious kit! Resultantly this beast needs a robust flight stand. Kenny and his brother David settled on a 1″ Acrylic post to support the model on its flight stand.
All sorts of awesome details cover this model, from multiple magnetized weapons mounts to a fully detailed interior and cockpit!
The primary weapon is interchangeable with a number of alternatives, lending the Thunderhawk whatever super heavy killing power it requires!
Sadly many of this model’s interior details were sacrificed to provide greater structural stability, but all of the external details, like the massive Pod Racer style engines, are there for us to gaze upon!
