FW Previews New Armigers & 30k Gets Knights!

imperial knight hor wall

Wow who saw this coming? Forge World just previewed a new Knight Armiger, and they have some teasers about their rules porting over to 30k as well!

Imperial Knights have gotten a ton of love lately. Now, they’re getting even more support from Forge World and are coming to Horus Heresy.

In case you missed the latest updates to Knights, they got an FAQ that helped Forge World variants. Stratagems from the Codex can finally be used on Forge World Knight models as long as the wording allows it per the class.

So What got Changed Exactly?

knight FAQ

Why the change to command points? Well, Codex: Imperial Knights was printed before the Big FAQ, which gave every army more command points to play with. Imperial Knights were looking a bit light, especially with the new codex bringing so many new Stratagems to try, and so the new FAQ should bring you up to par with other armies in Warhammer 40,000.

super heavy FAQ

Well, the major highlights for are that the super-heavy detachment doesn’t give you any command benefit unless you have at least one Imperial Knight Titanic unit. However, you get +6CPs if you have at least three Imperial Knight Titanic units in the detachment.

Now you’ll be able to get 9 CPs total just by bringing 3 big boys. Say goodbye to seeing so many Guard detachments to farm CPs.

house raven faq

There was a question about advancing and firing heavy weapons with House Raven. The answer is that the Knight is so big and nasty that he doesn’t care about the hundred-tonne weapons on his arms. He’s so badass he’s going to fire it anyway.

Forge World Knights

The Imperial Knights were updated in Forge World’s Imperial Armor Forces of the Astra Militarum FAQ as well, unlocking codex rules for the Ceratus classes.

FW knight faq

Warhammer Community announced this morning that Armigers will be getting alternate kits as Forge World variants. Armigers and Dominus-class knights will also be playable in 30k. Let’s take a look at what these kits will look like and talk about Knights in the Horus Heresy setting.

FW Armiger kits

Take a look at the differences between the Armiger Warglaive and this Styrix Knight at the bottom. The kit looks like it’s got completely different armor plating as well as new weapons for each arm.

Could that weapon be a Volkite cannon? The melee arm looks exactly like what we’ve seen on a Knight before.

Knight Styrix

The Armiger in the picture and the Styrix have cosmetics that make them look all too common to each other.

Knights in 30k

Dominus Knights and Armigers can be used in 30k. FW is also in the process of giving the kits new (30k style) weapons. We’ll have to keep our eyes out for whenever they pop up. But in the meantime, enjoy playing your new Knights across 2 different games.

What FW knight kit do you hope comes to the Armiger? Are you looking forward to seeing Armigers and Dominus Knights in 30k? Let us know what you think in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
