Get the scoop on GW’s Warhammer 2025 lineup with the new The Old World Empire and Necromunda releases, as leaks are here a little early.

Updated December 18th, 2024, by Rob Baer with new information and links to relevant content.

A recent email “leak” by GW to all their retailers on Sunday has given us an early glimpse at Games Workshop’s first releases of 2025, and there’s a lot to get excited about (if you play Old World and Necromunda, not so much for 40k or AoS).

With a spotlight on the Empire for Warhammer: The Old World and some fantastic additions for Necromunda, it’s clear that players and collectors alike have some great projects to look forward to.

Leaks, Shortages, and Scrambling: GW’s 2025 Plans Just Got Real

Update: It looks like the holiday rush came early for Games Workshop—literally. An email sent to retailers on Sunday, December 15th, wasn’t just a fluke and technically not a “leak.” By Tuesday, December 17th, reps were already following up, asking for “want” numbers on upcoming 2025 releases. Either GW is trying to beat the Christmas shutdown, or they’re clocking out early for the season (or maybe both).

What does that mean for you? Well, some retailers didn’t place their orders for The Old World Empire release, so expect store shelves to run dry fast. If you want to secure those hot new minis, you might have to snag them online or head straight to GW—just don’t expect any discounts.

Either way, it looks like 2025 is kicking off with Chaos, and not the Warhammer kind.

Store Exclusives: Limited but Intriguing

Ogre Light CannonSome items will only be available online or through Warhammer stores, which is always a bit of a double-edged sword. While it’s great to see unique offerings, availability can sometimes be a challenge. Standouts among these exclusives include the Imperial Ogre with Light Cannon and the Teutogen Guard Warriors

The Takeaway on the 2025 GW Leaks

Necromunda Squat TrikeGames Workshop has set the stage for a strong start to 2025. The Empire’s return to The Old World feels like a homecoming, and the mix of infantry, cavalry, and characters offers something for everyone. Necromunda players also have a lot to look forward to, with expansions that seem tailored to both lore lovers and “competitive” players alike.

Whether you’re here for the Old World nostalgia or the gritty underhive skirmishes, the lineup promises plenty of exciting options to build, paint, and play. Plus, don’t miss out on the Amazon Secret Level 40k Animation featuring Lt. Titus, and keep your eyes peeled for the latest announcements on Henry Cavill’s big Warhammer project, too.

With so much on the horizon, it’s hard not to be excited about what they will reveal next. Be sure to check out all the other new release roadmap previews from Games Workshop below for Age of Sigmar, Horus Heresy, and, of course, Warhammer 40k as well:
