Coming in as an all-new souped-up killing machine, he’s back and bigger, madder, and angrier than ever! Gazghkull was already able to kick some tail on the tabletop.

Ghazghkull Thraka Model Size Bigger Than We Thought!
So just how big is the new model? Well, let’s take a look at the previews again:
Going off of what we can see, there are three Nobz on 32mm bases in the foreground. One seems to be slightly overlapping the other two, making their combined base width less than 96mm (32×3) but bigger than the 64mm the two bases would make alone.
Our guess is he’s somewhere between 80mm and 90mm in size.
Here’s a better look at scales photoshop image of Ghaz next to some newer character models that are on 60mm and 50mm bases respectfully. This seems to also support a base size of at least 80mm in diameter.
Some notable models on 80mm bases are the Forge World Dreadnought variants, and large beasts like the Mangler Squig for Age of Sigmar He could of course also be on a 90mm round similar to the Redemptor and Invictor Dreadnoughts.
However, Gazghkull being on a 100mm base like Mortarion and some of the Greater Daemon models seems a little unlikely given the preview images thus far. Either way, he’s big, he’s mean, and if the lore is to be believed, he’s nigh unkillable!
Ghazghkull 40k Rules From Saga of the Beast SPOTTED!
Spotted on Facebook, it looks like the squig is out of the bag for the new Ghazghkull rules!
No word on points quite yet, but it looks like he will be targetable with 12 wounds at the very least. However, that being said he can only lose 4 wounds a phase similar to Morathi in Age of Sigmar. Plus with a 2+, 4+ and T7 he’s definitely survivable for at least a few turns. Plus if you pair him with his banna waver Makari, he gets a 6+++ too!
Keywords wise, he’s literally a monster, not infantry, and has a 12 shot not heavy, heavy bolter. Plus he gets more attacks as he takes damage.
His last points were 235, but at 14 power level above, that leads us to believe his new points may be between 150 and 200. That being said overall the new Ghazghkull Rules don’t seem to look half bad at all.
New 40k Orks Rules for Makari
It’s important to note that we don’t know how much he’ll cost but it looks like we know he’ll be able to move apart from The Beast. But if he can and isn’t too expensive, he could be a major speed bump for certain lists.
Spotted on Facebook, it looks like the squig is also out of the bag for the full Makari rules!
Seeing that he’s a small Gretchin model, you could easily fit him behind most walls/cover (the banner might be tricky but it’s hard to tell for sure how big the whole model will really be). When you add in that 2++ invlun with a nearly-untargetable character, he could sit on an objective by himself and shrug off blows from Primaris units trying to beat him off of the objective in melee.
This is some Nurgling-level peskiness we’re talking about y’all. So far things are looking great for the new Makari 40k Ork Rules.
Saga of the Beast (Prophecy Of The Wolf) 40k Starter Set Values
Well, it looks like the rumors were true (sort of). There is a new 40k Starter Box, but Ghaz and Ragnar are the only new models inside. Oh and Makari too…
Going off of the official GW Preview of the new Saga of the Beast box to get the values inside:
- 10x Primaris Infiltrators $60 (multipart box set, not the Shadowspear monoposes)
- Ragnar Blackmane $40? -This is what the new Primaris Mephy goes for.
- Gazghkull Thrakka $70? -Both Abaddon and Guilliman cost the same and are roughly the same size. Although that Ghaz may be on an 80mm base.
- 5x Ork Nobz $30
- 3x Ork Meganobs $63
With just that added up alone, we’ve got a total of $265 which might seem like a lot with a model count of around 20. However, the Blood of the Phoenix Box Set totaled up to $365 MSRP for 25 models.
For argument’s sake, let’s go back and take a look at past Box Sets for 40k.
- 2018/2019 Wrath & Rapture (38 Models) MSRP: $160 Box Set Value: $312 Savings $152
- 2018 Tooth & Claw (30 Models) MSRP: $150 Box Set Value: $345 Savings $195
- 2018 Wake The Dead (32 Models) MSRP: $150 Box Set Value: $301 Savings $151
- 2019 Blood of the Phoenix (25 Models) MSRP: $230 Box Set Value: $375 Savings $145
All that aside, we still don’t know what a Box Set containing all these things could even cost. But it’s important to remember that the last Psychic Awakening Box Set sat at $230. Prophecy of the Wolf, in theory, should cost significantly less just on the content values alone.
