Primaris Death Company yes, please! Blood Angels and their successors are coming in HOT with spicy new 40k rules in Psychic Awakening Blood of Baal.
Warhammer Community revealed the bonus rules coming to the Blood Angels inside of Blood of Baal. With a new Doctrine, Stratagems, and bonus rules for Successors, the Blood Angels have never looked this good!
Blood Angels Doctrine Bonus Rule: Savage Echoes
For Blood Angels, their bonus Doctrine rule turns on when they enter the Assault Doctrine. They get another attack tacked onto the already-bonus attack with Shock Assault. That means that a normal Blood Angel will be getting +2 attacks in the latter parts of the game.
Librarian Dreads Just Got Better
Librarian Dreads, one of the star units for Blood Angels just got even better. Adding 6″ to any casting from The Sanguinary Discipline, they’ll be able to give a bonus +1 attack to units up the board that might have normally been out of reach. Plus, they get to reroll a single die on the Psychic/Deny test.
Bonus Litany: Invocation of Destruction
This litany is cool, and probably the most powerful that it’ll ever be with the faction that is able to give +a million attacks to units, but you have to fish for unmodified 6’s to wound. There are some generic Litanies like Catechism of Fire that just give more upfront value.
Death Company Intercessors Announced
Looks like Cawl can shove it BECAUSE PRIMARIS CAN FALL TO THE BLACK RAGE!!! That’s right, Primaris Intercessors can now become Death Company Intercessors (giving +1 attack and a 6+++ FNP). But that also makes them eligible for the Rapid Fire 2 Stratagem. A chunky block of 10 Death Company Intercessors will be able to pump out forty shots and then charge in for 50+ attacks getting +1 to wound. (oh boy).
Flesh Tearers Get Stronger A Chapter Tactic
The Angriest of the angry bois will be getting an even stronger Chapter Tactic showing their unrelenting brutality in combat. For the Flesh Tearers, they get a bonus -1 AP tacked on when they wound on a 6+.
Mephiston’s Official Statline Revealed
For Mephiston, the official statline on himself in Primaris form was revealed giving him an extra wound and attack (which is what we’ve seen time and time again). They also gave his sword the correct name finally!
Blood Angels Get Access to all the New Primaris Hotness & Get More Updates
the Blood Angels now have access to all of the Space Marines Vanguard units from the Infiltrators to the Eliminators. There are also a number of updated datasheets for units such as Astorath the Grim and the Sanguinary Priest.
Overall, Blood Angels are in a MUCH better spot than before. Hopefully, we’ll be seeing even more Death Company support beyond Intercessors. But hey, that’s a huge enough announcement by itself!
