With all of the previews showcasing Abaddon and the new Vigilus book, there’s some artwork that looks to have to units we haven’t seen before.
Warhammer Community dropped some artwork in the recent Vigilus previews showing what could be a new flying unit we’ve never seen. Moving onto the cover of Vigilus Ablaze, the second book in the Vigilus series, there’s some kind of new character standing next to Abaddon. Maybe a Chaos Chaplain?
New Chaos Flyer Spotted With Helldrakes?
Coming from some newly previewed artwork, we can see the Black Legion assaulting some kind of Imperial bastion. If you look to the skies, you’ll see some Raptors and Helldrakes doing what you’d expect them to do. However, there are some mysterious floating Sea Urchin-type flyers in the sky with them!
They definitely look more rounded almost like a ball, rather than following the normal shape you’d expect from a jet/gunship. What could these be exactly? Are they some kind of transport used by the Black Legion in the lore? Will they get a model on the tabletop? We’re not exactly sure, honestly, they could just be artwork…
Mystery Chaos Character Stands Next to Abaddon
Now a rumor with more…substance?
This is the cover of the new Vigilus II book. Notice anything strange about the artwork? Let’s zoom in some.
Next, to Abaddon, you’ll see some kind of new character holding a book and a scepter. Going off of looks alone, he looks like he’s some kind of Chaplain-esque unit for Chaos. He sure would make Lorgar proud!
Check out the book he’s holding along with the mount on his backpack. We may have just debunked two rumor Daemon engines!
We’ve got two clues pointing directly to this piece of art. Only time will tell if we were right when we see a model get previewed. We know that Chaos is getting multiple waves of support in the days ahead so we are bound to see this guy very soon.
If this is a new character after all, what kind of rules do you think he’ll have? Will he be some kind of Psyker? Will he give off a new kind of aura we’ve never seen before? Let us know what you think in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group.
