Want more for the Orks? Don’t miss the new 8the Edition 40k rules for Looted Vehicles that were just spotted from Chapter Approved 2018!

We knew looted vehicles were making a comeback in Chapter Approved, but we didn’t quite know what their stats would be. Until now!

Spotted on Imgur, Ork looted vehicle stats from Chapter Approved 2018 are looking to cover every battlefield role. Keep in mind though that the Looted vehicles are ONLY for Open play.

What Makes a Good Looted Vehicle?

This is a little bit of fluff mixed in with some suggestions for what vehicles to use on the table. Orks usually end up looting the Imperial vehicles because of their similar materials used. (And because they’re the biggest Empire in the galaxy). In short, Chimera Chassis make a good transport option, Leman Russes are a good frontline Wagon option, and the Baneblade chassis is about the right size for a Battle Fortress.

Looted Kart

Starting with the Kart, (this is what GW suggested be a Chimera/Rhino chassis), It’s got 10 wounds at T7 and moves 12″. It may look a bit squishy at first, but it comes stock with a Big Red Button.  This has a random effect that could help you get the guys inside to the frontline a bit quicker to even healing D3 wounds.

Let’s face it. There are plenty of better ways to get Infantry to the frontline (Da Jump, for example), but you’re going to be playing these in fluffy games so the spirit of hyper-competitiveness isn’t exactly relevant here.

Looted Wagon

As for the Wagon, this thing packs a serious amount of dakka. Especially when you can shoot twice with it using the Shoot ’em Again! rule. This is basically the reskinned version of Imperial Guard’s Grinding Advance for their tanks. You’ve also got a Big Red Button to help you stay alive a little while longer.

Looted Battle Fortress

The Battle Fortress behaves just like any Lord of War meaning that is can fall back and shoot, then charge. It’s got plenty of firepower with 3D6 shots coming from the signature D6 Damage Deffkannon. Even landing a few hits from that thing can be devastating.

Of course, the Mek wouldn’t forget to put another Big Red Button in that behemoth. It can also transport a whopping thirty Infantry models. Imagine cracking the hull of the Battle Fortress only to see thirty Boyz spill out and charge. It’s like kicking over a Fire Ant hill in the 41st millennia.

Do you think these stats are good enough for Orks to still use in Open Play games? Should these be allowed in Matched Play? Which variant are you going to use in your games the most?
