New 40k Dark Angels Rules & Relics Revealed!

new-dark-angels-rules-wahrmmer-40k-9th-EditionGW just revealed the first look at new Dark Angels 40k rules and relics as thier new supplement is up next! Check this out.

Warhammer Community just revealed a whole host of new rules including relics, psychic powers, stratagems, and some new weapons. If you were hoping for the Dark Angels to get their release before the Dark Eldar, well, your prayers are answered. If you’re on the Xenos side of the equation, you’re used to it by now…

There are a lot of new rules to go over, but if you want to see all the new kits coming with the faction, check it out here. But for now, let’s jump into the rules!

Dark Angels Rules: Interromancy

Dark Angels Rules Mind wipeThis can really help you kill that unit you need to get rid of or stop them from destroying you in cc. Especially when you’re playing against certain armies that rely on those buffs as the main way they make units strong. They also mention here that Master Interromancer Ezekiel will get bonuses to his psychic tests.

Dark Angels Rules Engulfing FearThis power is pretty amazing. It, not only minuses their Leadership but also stops Objective Secured and any actions. That means you can take objectives from your opponent with one singular dude who has Objective Secured or stop them from grabbing secondaries. This could be really annoying and clutch to turn an objective to your side at the last second.

New Relics

Mace of RedemptionDoing 2 damage on an unmodified wound roll of 4+ is nothing to sneeze at! Especially if you have a Librarian in range to reroll those wounds. Even if you’re not against those units, this is still a pretty powerful weapon and will dish out the damage.

Heavenfall BladeRavenwing Talonmasters can dish out some more damage in CC now with this new relic. At -4 AP, +2 strength, 2 damage, and +1 attack it is fairly strong. Since this is classed as a vehicle, you’ll have plenty of wounds to soak up the damage to get into CC and survive that first round of combat, hopefully.

Stratagems

The first thing to note about the new stratagems, they say there will have 17 of them to use. But today they gave us two of them.

Dark Angels StratagemsThe amount of attacks this could reduce is huge. They will actually have to be in engagement range to get the attacks, so if you position correctly, you’ll be able to pile in your attacks and heavily reduce theirs. It won’t be used all the time, but when it does for one CP it could be super impactful.

IntractableThis is really sweet when the enemy ties up your shooty units. They can automatically fall back and then shoot. This is perfect to keep your high-priority units shooting when they need to.

Fire Discipline

Fire disciplineLooks like Dark Angels are almost all vehicles now. But seriously, this is pretty amazing, being able to shoot into combat with all of your assault and Rapid Fire weapons are no joke! If you get charged and survive, the next turn you can blast the enemy away.  While you’ll be hitting on 5’s it will be a ton of shots so you should stack up the damage. This is also just one part of the new doctrine ability, so keep tuned for more!

What do you think about the rules so far? Are you excited for the supplement to drop?
