Move your models even easier with new Aeldari Battle Focus tokens; letting you perform Agile Manoeuvres, giving your units unmatched speed and control
The Aeldari (or Eldar for you veteran players) are back with a new army ability in their upcoming Codex, and it’s all about speed, agility, and making life hard for their enemies. The Aeldari Battle Focus ability rules are a game-changer for anyone who’s ever dreamed of zipping across the battlefield like the most graceful space elves in the galaxy.
What’s the New Aeldari Battle Focus Rules All About?
Battle Focus works with tokens you earn at the start of each round, based on the size of your Eldar army. These tokens let your units pull off Agile Manoeuvres—special tricks that make them faster, harder to pin down, and more dangerous in the middle of a fight. From boosting movement to denying enemy Overwatch, these abilities keep your army one step ahead.
Here’s how the token count breaks down:
- Incursion: 2 tokens
- Strike Force: 4 tokens
- Onslaught: 6 tokens
You can spend these tokens on different abilities during your turn, but no spamming—each ability can only be used once per phase.
The Fancy Footwork
Some of these Agile Manoeuvres are downright nasty in the best way. Want your vehicles to hit the gas? Star Engines gives them a speed boost by adding D6+1″ to their Move. Got Howling Banshees charging into a fight? Flitting Shadows lets them ignore Overwatch, keeping them safe as they carve through enemies.
For units like Guardian Defenders, things get even spicier. Their Fleet of Foot ability lets them perform the Fade Back maneuver for free. This little trick means that when they’re shot at, they can move away up to D6+1″, making it frustratingly hard for enemies to pin them down.
More Tricks Up Their Sleeves
The Aeldari are full of surprises, and Battle Focus opens up plenty of room for creative tactics. Here are a few more Agile Maneuvers to keep in mind:
- Swift as the Wind: Add 2″ to a unit’s Move characteristic. Perfect for grabbing objectives or escaping a sticky situation.
- Sudden Strike: Double the distance for Pile-in and Consolidation moves during a fight. Great for surrounding enemies or diving deeper into enemy lines.
- Opportunity Seized: If an enemy falls back, your unit can move up to D6+1″. Why let them escape when you can keep the pressure on?
Aeldari Battle Focus: Craftworlds on the Move
Whether it’s Fire Prisms rocketing across the battlefield or Wraithknights stomping forward with surprising speed, Battle Focus makes the Aeldari as slippery as they are deadly. Aspect Warriors and smaller wraith units shine even brighter when paired with Spiritseers, who can unlock more of their potential.
