attialan-rough-ridersGW just revealed a ton of new details, and the Attilan Rough Riders sprues ahead of the kit’s release- check it out!

It feels like a really long time ago now that GW first previewed these minis, but they will go on sale February 25th, 2023. Plus it’s always nice to get some more info about the models before you buy them.

Games Workshop also shows off the old models, making it easy to see how the kit has changed over the years.

New Attilan Rough Riders Sprues & Kit Details Revealed!

The new details and sprues come from this Warhammer Community post.

Attilan Rough Riders Sprues

The original Rough Riders were released in the first ever Codex: Imperial Guard – way back in the second edition of Warhammer 40,000, when they came on oblong bases.

The old models were pretty awesome, and they really kept the old feel with the new models.

Many of their most recognisable features have been preserved in the new kit. There’s that traditional Attilan headwear, and a wide variety of face options sporting some excellent moustaches.

It’s not just the riders who’ve had a uniform upgrade – their steeds trade a simple saddle for full-length barding and thick armour. Your valiant horsemen no longer need fear enemy fire with improved Toughness and Armour Save.

We’ve already seen a lot of pictures of the models, but it is nice to see some more up-close pictures of the models, but the sprues are the most important thing!

New Sprues

One rider in five can be assigned a goad lance – a vicious electrified weapon that can cook heavy infantry from the inside out with a single touch. When they’re out of charge range, rough riders carry standard-issue lasguns usually stashed in stylish leather rifle scabbards.

There are actually a lot of bits on the sprues, and you should be able to customize yours pretty well. It also looks like the assembly lines will be hidden under the barding, making for a very seamless appearance.

Realistically the only thing making these “Attilan” rough riders are the heads which are separate from the bodies, and a little padding sticking out of the gloves. So if you swap the heads, these could match any regiment from the looks of it.
