The new Mortarion picture may hold a lot more than just the Death Guard angel himself. Could there be new Death Guard jump troops on the way?
The latest picture of the Mortarion model was spotted yesterday, and it seems the picture holds a lot more than meets the eye. Can you find what looks to be new jump troops?
Still having a hard time? Take a closer look in the very top left of this image and you can make out clear jump stands to the left of the Bloat Drone.
We saw the Primaris releases escalate from new infantry to eventually getting new jump troops. Can we expect the same treatment for the Death Guard in there upcoming releases?
These look to perhaps have several eyes, and some sort of plasma rifle on the left and pistols on the right, as the coils seem to be colored purple in this image.

Now look to the right of the drone and you’ll notice Plague Marines, but the one on the left seems to be holding a gun we haven’t seen yet. That’s definitely a long barrel and a rather large magazine. Could this be the first image we’ve seen of new multi part Plague Marines?
So, like we said in the beginning, maybe there’s a lot more to this picture than meets the eye?
This now has us on the edge of our seats waiting to see what is in store for us and the upcoming Death Guard release. We’ve been predicting Labor Day weekend is when we might see new Death Guard releases, and now it’s looking like we might not be too far off after this reveal.

- Multi-part Death Guard Kit
- Death Guard Terminators or Aggressor like models
- Jump Pack Death Guard Models (with Inceptor style flight stems)
- New beasts kit (cross between Maulerfiend, and warp beast from fantasy?) Seen in 8th Artwork
- New Tank Kit (tank spotted already and seen in artwork)
- Specialist Death Guard Weapons troops (like hellblasters?)
- Clampack Characters

Remember too that the Thousands Sons will be getting their own codex along with the Death Guard as well, per the wording the Chaos Codex, so lots more Chaos goodies on the way for the worshipers of the Dark Gods.
